China Glaze Presents "Retro Diva"

The 70’s were a good time. A time of bell bottoms, Studio 54, and according to China Glaze the ‘Retro Diva’. This Fall the popular nail polish brand is set to release their Retro Diva collection, a shimmering, high shine compilation of twelve shades paying tribute to the decade of free spirit. With a price tag of $6.50 a piece, this collection is sure to please, and take you to a place where love was all you needed. The collection will be released in early July at beauty supply stores nationwide.

We had a rare opportunity in New York last week. Gabriella, Krish and I found ourselves in the same city at the same time! So, we gathered the ladies for an East Coast meet-up…and of course it involved cupcakes! We recently brought on a team of interns from around the globe and invited those near NYC to come out for sweet treats at Sugar Sweet Sunshine in the Lower East Side. Janessa came from Boston, Randi came out from Staten Island and Gee reps Money Makin’. Randi came extra correct with her M.I.S.S. nameplate necklace made from Shrinky Dinks, Krish rolled in with her Valley mani and Janessa’s girl, Gillian from Mishka, stopped by with Krink inspired nails.

Jeremy Scott’s highly anticipated S/S 09 “Let Them Eat Gas” collection has finally been launched on Las Vegas’ finest, FRUITION!

This is not the first time M.I.S.S.’s favourite Jeremy Scott has come together with FRUITION to launch his wild, fun and tongue-in-cheek collections! The last taste of Scott on FRUITION being his $15 pin badges made of scrap materials from previous collections (and a couple from this s/s 09 one!), which dropped in early March.  If you go now you may still have a chance of catching some before they are all sold, click here!

Hit up FRUITION and prepare to salivate over all the Jeremy Scott “Let Them Eat Gas” goods, I sure did! Jeremy Scott has come through with his ‘A’ game once again with the S/S 09 collection. With inspirations deriving from the French Revolution fused with the flare of the 80s, this is most definitely a unique and jaw-dropping collection. My love of leggings and floral prints has made Scott’s ‘Floral Flights’ leggings a personal favourite! A pretty special and aesthetically beautiful piece from the collection is the ‘Hoody in Bloom’ zip jacket, which is also available on FRUITION. The delicate 3-D pleats and curve details on the sleeves are used to resemble a blooming rose which makes this one hell of a stand out jacket!

You better start gathering all your pretty pennies together before you even hit the FRUITION site! I can guarantee that your fingers will be tempted to click “Buy Now” on the Jeremy Scott pieces before you can even say “Let Me Eat the Damn GAS!”

The UK chicks have pulled the lucky straw this time round with interesting events happening up and down the country; something which will make all the USA ladies envious ;-). The Lady Luck Rules OK dream team are embarking upon a nationwide UK tour of independent events throughout spring and summer 2009, with more dates to be added for September onwards. These include vintage fairs (!!), craft markets, jumble sales (where the bargains be at), summer fetes and D.I.Y workshops for all the heads ready to get creative. LLROK designer Leona Baker and her team will be on their toes throughout 2009 to keep these events happening and not to mention, to keep their devoted customers happily busy through the rather long and tedious poor-excuse-of-a-summer that the UK sees!

Lady Luck Rules OK have come along way since their first market stall in Portobello Market 5 years ago. The cutesy fun jewellery business is at the height of their popularity, and is still going strong and forever growing, with plenty more tricks up their sleeves for the coming years. It has been an eventful 5 years for the LLROK team, and they have decided to give something back to UK, after all the love, support and cult following they have received.

M.I.S.S. has been supporting jewellery brand Lady Luck Rule OK from across the pond since the get go, with posts dating back to 2006. And who can blame M.I.S.S and the mass of LLROK followers? They must be doing something right to have so many fans and loyal customers, with plenty of new ones added everyday. If you have not heard of Lady Luck Rules OK then I suggest you click this link now! One of my favourites from the LLROK brand is their array of crazy personalised fashion jewellery! Call me narcissistic for loving my own, rather plain-Jane name, but there is just something oddly satisfying to have my name twice round my neck, and on my earrings. Genius. That pretty much says it all. I could just stop there and you could click the link and see for yourself. You would totally agree. BUT since I feel so strongly about this, I have to talk about it! Where to begin? Kutiman hails from Isreal and is a magic music man. You can peep his work on his MySpace page but this particular project, ThruYou, are master mix mash-ups of YouTube videos, creating original songs…thru you. He spans musical genres from dub to down-tempo electro jazz to chaotic Jungle madness. He credits every person who’s video he used to create the track/video. I am in awe and look forward to more.

Poet Ruby Veridiano-Ching, who was highlighted as a M.I.S.S.
