The site, “a womens lifestyle online magazine dedicated to sneakers, urban fashion, style, trends & the everyday social blunder that plagues our daily routine,” has drawn thousands of female readers of all age ranges. Since it’s creation in 2006, TrashBag Aesthetics has provided the daily news on what’s going down in the streets of NYC and today we’re honoring the lady behind the site as a woman making history!

Last week Hood By Air released their “Classics” series at a party at Oak Showroom. The boys where in full effect and DJ Kingdom was holding it down with his Taz tee and his bass. bass, bass! The “Classics” series features t-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, varsity jackets and shorts with bold and simple text graphics. I love the contrast created by the large printed areas of tonal gel printing. Classic, clean and simple. Say it loud.

I love that there are still new things to be invented and discovered in the nail coverings department. And I was sooooo excited to walk into Valley NYC this past weekend and find KO Knock Out’s Flatte Nail Polish. Yup, that’s right, Flatte or Flat or Matte…however you’d like to spell it there is no shine or gloss to this polish. Just a matte, lack luster finish. Love it! KO (READ: Knock Out) is the creation of makeup artist Mike Potter - best known for creating the hair and makeup for the groundbreaking stage and film versions of Hedwig & the Angry Inch. Calvin Klein is known for controversy. From it’s ads featuring a young teenage Brooke Shields, a young Kate Moss, and a scantily clad Eva Mendes, Calvin Klein has a history of being banned and censored. Their newest Calvin Klein jeans ad is sharing the same fate - it’s been banned from TV - even late night cable TV. It seems it’s too steamy for us but you can watch it here. The ad was shot by Steven Meisel and has a very grainy look to it and you can’t help but feel like a voyeur as you watch it. I’m beginning to think CK makes their ads with the intent of them being banned - I think they may get more hype and notoriety that way. Whatever it is, it definitely makes an impression.

I have fallen in deep and mad love. The thought of being in snowy climates just so I could be dipped in the candy coated coverings of the Rossignol/JC de Castelbajac F/W collection makes me weak. You couldn’t get me to sub-zero degree temps fast enough. Inspired directly from Mr. de Castelbajac’s ready-to-wear collection, we get all the pop and pow of color, prints and details you would expect paired with the quality and craftsmanship of an outerwear company that has been manufacturing since the early 1900’s. The Fall collection is divided into two collections: POP and CHIC. POP includes: SKY, a cloud print on feather-light quilted jackets, SNOWBRICK, a LEGO inspired pattern of bright geometric shapes and GRAFFITI, an original design by Mr. de Castelbajac. The CHIC collection features PICTO, a take on the pictogram, with a jaquard design or gold all-over print and BLACK & WHITE, a solid black ot white with gold contrasting features.
