Nail art is all the rage now but the true MISS CREW knows that MISS has been down with nail art long before it was mainstream. Since 2004, I’ve been a proponent of nail art whether it was through ad campaigns for my clothing line Mama, custom color nail polish to match your kicks or a nail art calendar. Now, nine years later I’m excited to announce that MISS has teamed up with MINX to produce 7 sets of nail wraps. It was truly an honor to work with MINX because they are the first company to introduce nail wraps to the market. Not only were they the first, but they have the leading technology for nail wraps which results in nail wraps that are of the highest quality.

It’s been a while since I’ve designed so once I got started on this project, I couldn’t stop. The result is seven prints that have imagery that I’ve always wanted on my nails but that are very difficult to achieve by hand. For those of you familiar with my designs, you’ll see imagery and themes that I’ve worked with before. The “Kisses Camo” and “Color Block” are t-shirt graphics that I made for Mama. “Mi Vida Loca” is the theme that inspired my first and last Mama collections, I am after all an Italian Chola at heart. “Coco” was inspired by my love of the double C’s and “Like, Totally” was inspired by the patterns on my stationary collection from the 80s. Lastly, my favorite of the bunch is the “80s Airbrush Paradise”. Back in 2008 when we did the first MISS Calendar, Liz and I drove around San Francisco for three hours and stopped at no less than 10 nail salons that supposedly did airbrush designs. When we asked them to create a sunset theme with palm trees they all turned us away - no matter how much money we offered. Hand-painting a sunset just doesn’t give the same effect (and yes, I even bought an airbrush machine to try and do it myself) so I’m happy to say that I five years later, I finally have my sunset manicure.

You can find the MISS x MINX nail wraps in the MINX Tasting Room. I hope you enjoy them all as much as I do!

Finally, a big hug and thank you to the wonderful ladies that helped me put this shoot together:
