We’ve all seen the Jeremy Scott x adidas wing shoes but a car? The LA Auto show is now officially under way and last night smart USA unveiled the world premiere of a customized showcar titled smart for jeremy. The smart for Jeremy vehicle has Jeremy’s signature wings extending to the back of the car. You’ll look like you’re going fast even when you’re parked! For those interested in a car like this for themselves, this car is an electric vehicle that will be available to consumers in 2013 - though I’m not sure you can get the wings.
Adding to the event experience was a performance by M.I.A. who lit up the stage next to the car with her energy. Some fans in the audience included Perez Hilton, Liberty Ross, Cameron Silver and ASAP Rocky.

M.I.A. is one of the creative forces of our generation who is constantly breaking ground with her music and videos, while also having something to say politically. Though gifted as a musician, Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, M.I.A. started out as a visual artist graduating with a degree in fine art, film and video from Central Saint Martins. In her first book published by Rizzoli, M.I.A.’S self-titled work is a collection of her visual output through the years. You’ll also find music lyrics and an interview which details influences on M.I.A.’s life and work. You can buy M.I.A. from Amazon.com - this would make a great gift for any M.I.A. fan!
MADE sat down with Santigold as part of their Visions of Visionaries series to talk about her creativity, the difference between touring and working in the studio and how she got her start in music. There are also some great questions that give us a glimpse in to Santigold’s personality. I really enjoyed this interview because you can see how down-to-earth she is. Enjoy!
So, I’m sure you’ve heard about HBO’s new series GIRLS - it’s amazing and if you haven’t seen it then you need to. It’s Sex In the City for younger, hipper ladies that is WAY MORE realistic than SITC ever was. Staying true to hispterdom, the costume designer shops in thrift shops in Brooklyn to achieve an authentic look and one of the writers on staff is none other than Lesley Arfin. The star of Girls, Lena Dunham is also the creator, writer (and director of a few episodes) the series - not bad for someone born in 1986.
At the end of the last episode Hannah and Marnie get their dance on to a song that I didn’t recognize, so I had to find out what it was. It turns out it’s Robyn’s Dancing On My Own. I’m not giant Robyn fan, but I can’t stop playing this song. Now you can have it stuck in your head too. You’re welcome.
