We’re on the brink of the fall fashion season which means we have to prep our closets and pockets for the influx of warmer fashions to come. After all, who knows more about cold weather than our northern neighbors? Paris fashion brand KENZO is known for its colorful prints and cooky patterns. Its Fall/Winter 2013 is no different. Drawing inspiration from the celestial, KENZO creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have  chosen three prints (flying tigers, lightning and clouds) for its new collection. In what has almost become fashion tradition these heavenly KENZO prints with the translated onto a series of Vans silhouettes: the Slip-On, Authentic and, for the first time, the Chukka. The fifth installment of the KENZO x Vans signature footwear collection is now available at Kenzo stores, Kenzo.com and at select retail partners including Opening Ceremony, Colette, IT, Browns, Antonia and Holt Renfrew.

Sophistication meets street with the release of  this simple (yet amazingly dope) Chanel quilted sneaker. Although the French fashion house is know for its high fashion garments and top of the line handbags, it does the lady sneaker lovers proper with this release. The sneaker’s mid-top upper resembles the coveted quilted double-C shoulder bags and sports a monochromatic color way. If you’re not sold because of the designer or look of the shoe, the details are sure to have you dipping into your “for emergencies only” account. The shoe’s tongue has a stitched Chanel logo while the silver eyelets are engraved with the brands name. On the inside of she shoe is a wool blend grey/black chevron print sure to be on trend for winter.

Do you remember reading choose your own adventure books when you were a kid?  I used to love them.  As an adult, your chances of choosing your own adventure don’t come by very often, but Revlon and Elle have found a way to appeal to the inner child in us.

Revlon and Elle present The Personal Style Experience, an interactive choose your own adventure video, where you watch a video and choose between two style options.  At the end of the video, you find out your own personal style, and be directed to the Revlon P.S. Experience Facebook tab. When you get there, you’ll find fashion and beauty content tailored to your personal style. Each month, Revlon will update the content to reflect seasonal and trend changes.

I took the video quiz three times, because I was curious to see how different scenarios would play out, and surprisingly came up with the same result each time: Edgy. I never really thought of myself as edgy - but I suppose my penchant for nail art and lots of black mascara make it so. Fortunately for me, Revlon must have read my mind because they sent me Revlon Lash Potion™ Volume and Length Mascara to review.

First, you should know that I think mascara is probably my singular most important makeup item. If I had to choose one thing to use, it would be mascara. It might be because I love looks with dramatic eyes, or because I was born with the shortest lashes on earth, either way, mascara is my best friend. Needless to say, I try lots of mascara and rarely find one that will get me to drop my regular standby.

The Revlon Lash Potion™ Volume and Length Mascara might just be the one to make me switch. The formula is thin and not at all clumpy. The mascara truly did make my lashes so much longer - it was a dramatic difference - and it wasn’t heavy at all. I especially loved the Illusionist Wand — its triple bristles really helped separate the lashes, all while building volume and length.
