Yours Truly Brand sent over some video of  their Fashion Show that we saw recently, shot and edited by the talented people at New Yorks’s finest video and photo web magazine The New Pop. I hope that all you ladies out there with aspirations of starting your own line see that it can be started on a small scale, and built from a grassroots angle as long as you have the idea, the drive and the dream to do it your way.

Backstage Prep

Last night at the Thursday Fashion Fix, Yours Truly Brand debuted their first cut and sew collection, and summer tee releases with a fashion show. The models walked the runway one by one through Club One to the thick and wobbly dubstep bass with appropriate attitude, showing off the collection of simple prints on cottons and knits with oft daringly cut backs. The cut and sew pieces in particular featured some interesting surprises with a classic racer back tank, and an exaggerated racer back inspired cut out top that can be easily paired with leggings or worn as a dress if you’ve got great legs and wear your undies. The collection also has a lovely draped off the shoulder tee, as well as a cute keyhole-type knit tank with straps that cross in the back, and a t-shirt with a hem that is higher in the back than it is in the front. If you haven’t already gotten to it, it’s time to work off your winter muffintops, ladies! Showing off all this back you might land yourself a sexy orthopedist or a chiropractor!

The summer cut and sew delivery of Yours Truly should be hitting stores soon, and will also be available through the Yours Truly Brand webstore as well.

We’ve been posting about Yours Truly Brand since the first line hit stores in October 2007. We’re always more that excited to back brands up from the beginning that are run by passionate and hardworking ladies that are in it for the right reasons.

Today’s feature is Jenny Musitano of Yours Truly Brand, a Brooklyn based clothing line for those who aren’t into wearing mainstream BS. The clothing reflects this attitude and promotes truth, confidence, and street culture. Yours Truly Brand is a small independent company striving to bring quality and uniqueness to the streets. It’s a label that should be rocked with confidence and love cause it’s that real.

Yours Truly has a couple big things poppin this week, starting with the launch of their online store. They are also celebrating their 1 year anniversary, and owner Jenny Musitano’s birthday with some party-time excellence.

**ILL Party Wed, November 12th @ The Delancey with DJ ELLE, EDDIE IXL, and ILL P on the decks.

**Friday, November 14th @ Studio B Hip Hop and Reggae in the Lounge. Dope House Music in the CLUB. Come party and get your soul revival on. Free admission when you say you’re there for ‘Yours Truly.’

• Why: Bringing the females of the street culture together for a day of mingling, networking,
shopping, and drinking.
Select vendors will bring clothing, shoes, and accessories that they no longer fit or want focusing on
streetwear/contemporary clothing. Vendors will have their own section for their company, but their friends and associates can also participate in the section. Vendors will price each item accordingly (keeping in mind that attendees will be coming to the event to get a deal). Items (new or used) will be marked at or around the wholesale price. The public will be able to swap goods with the vendors or simply buy.

While Liz and I were at M.A.G.I.C. we stopped to say hello to Jenny of Yours Truly and we had the chance to finally meet the lovely Ill P.  The new collection, “Upgrade Yourself,”  consists of cute & clever tees and a long hoodie with a fun, colorful logo graphic.  These pieces will be hitting stores in the coming months so stay tuned!
