June marks the release of the Kime Buzzelli “Wellesely” Vans. Available in two color-ways, this sneaker features the artwork of LA based artist Kime Buzzelli. Her world of fantastical ladies and gents are captured by using watered down paints and markers. She creates dream-like scenarios “inspired by fashion, film and make believe” and has graced the Vans ‘Wellesely’ with her artwork for this June release. These sneakers are strictly for the ladies and come in the turquoise blue featured as M.I.S.S. June and in black. The collection features more than sneakers and can be viewed in our coverage of our visit with Vans at Magic this past February.

They say every dark cloud has a silver lining . . .
Kendo, the LA based sneaker boutique catering exclusively to female sneaker fiends, is now closing. After opening its doors to the public in 2003, Kendo has consistently provided the consumer with some of the most exclusive women’s sneakers around from heavyweights such as Nike, Adidas, Etnies, and Vans, to name a few. Beyond being the female sneaker heads’ shopping mecca in LA, Kendo has also played a crucial role in calling attention to the growing demand for an expanded women’s sneaker market, emphasizing smaller sizing and innovative designs.
Kendo will be sorely missed, but never one to be outdone they are going out with a bang! Make sure to stop by their store starting Thursday, February 26th, to shop their Closing-Everything-Must-Go-Sale. Everything $40.00 and less, CASH ONLY. With a selection as good as theirs, you’ll definitely find something to cop.
While in Vegas we had the pleasure of checking out the Vans girl’s apparel and footwear. Vans is working with two very talented women on collaborative projects - spanning both apparel and footwear - Kime Buzzelli and Kim Saigh. Kime Buzzelli is an artist and the owner of Show Pony, a boutique in Los Angeles and Kim Saigh is a tattoo artist on LA Ink. Kime Buzzelli’s collection for Vans showcases her signature illustrations, sassy charm and vintage leanings. Highlights included the “Show Pony Purse” - a bag heavily influenced by vintage silhouettes, the “Sorry For Suckers” Tote bag and the Faux Leather Jacket. The collection was centered around black and white with bright pops of color brought in by Kime’s drawings and illustrations. Other items in the collection includes tees, hoodies, Wellesly shoe and wide leg trousers. Kim Saigh’s line was very feminine and centered around two central themes: skulls, candy & hearts and cherry blossoms & butterflies. Stand out pieces included the Skate Art Fashion Bag and Tattoo Art Belt. The collection also includes a purse, Wellesley Hi shoes, a tee, hoodie and jeans. The collections are a great representation of the two artists and they release on June 5th. Start saving those pennies because these pieces are truly special.
Vans’ in-line collection stays true to their motto “where the beach meets the street.” They do a wonderful job of balancing their trademark skate look with just the right amount of street edge. The Fall collection centers around two central themes. The first, Uncommon People, is a mix of patterns and prints centering on fun, bold statement pieces influenced by silhouettes from the ’70s and ’80s. New fun plaid color combinations together with Ultra Skinny Bright jeans makes these pieces stand out. The second theme, Old Money, is a fun, flirty take on “prep” without straying too far from Vans’ checkerboard roots.
For fall, Vans has lots great accessories including belts, bags, wallets, hats, scarves - whatever you need, they make it. The footwear was a continuation of the apparel stories. Great women’s silhouettes in wearable color stories was the name of the game. Thankfully, the line include plenty of hi-top styles - some are super high with gold down options with contrast fabrics. Their versatile and you can get a few looks out of one pair of kicks - a great value!
While we were there, we had the chance to speak with Ashley Moltz, the product manager for accessories, and she took us through the themes of the Fall line and what is was working with Kime Buzzelli and Kim Saigh. Check it out below:

All the mushy, lovey-dovey scent in the air, doesn’t mean you can’t rock the hottest sneaks for the occasion! Leave your heels at home and switch it up this year ladies! Nike, Puma, Reebok and Vans have released their share of cuteness in time for Valentine’s Day. If you’re not into pink, think again, because the Nike Women’s Court Force High’s are pink enough to give you that sweet approach, without losing any swag. My fav’s would have to be the Reebok’s because they’re classics with a twist. They aren’t overly girly or Valentine’s Day-ish, which makes ‘em easier to wear on any other day. No matter which of these shoes you choose to wear this Valentine’s Day, you’re sure to get hit by one of Cupid’s arrows!!!
