A few weeks ago, CNN aired a feature on Carine Roitfeld, the Editor in Chief of Vogue Paris. If you weren’t able to catch it on television (like me) you can watch the 3-part interview below. CNN followed Carine Roitfeld from Chanel to Givenchy during Paris Fashion week and gave you an inside glimpse to the Vogue Paris office while Ms. Roitfeld selected the next cover of the magazine. In addition, CNN sat down with some of Carine Roitfeld’s closes colleagues, a virtual who’s who of fashion, including: Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Mario Testion, Hedi Slimane, Antoind Arnault and Francois-Henri Pinault. Carine Roitfeld is a fashion icon, and her career is an example of how doing what you love and believe in can only lead to success. Looks like Carrie Bradshaw is not the only lady head over heels in love with her Manolo Blahnik. The shoe designer is the twelfth person selected to be honored with a plaque on the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style, an area of sidewalk that commemorates the contributions of style makers whose influence goes beyond fashion, and into the realm of entertainment. Blahnik will have a permanent plaque placed on the iconic fashion shopping street on September 25th. Previous honorees include Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Gianni & Donatella Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Edith Head, James Acheson and Milena Canonero, Herb Ritts and Mario Testino.
I loved Tom Ford back in the come-back days of Gucci. We’ve been hearing about Tom here and there . . first he teamed up with Estee Lauder to create a fragrance line and then signed an eyewear deal. His new fragrance Black Orchid is dropping now and he’s working on a menswear line set for launch in 2007. What happened Tom, no more sexy clothes for the ladies??
