The Goods! At Marmalade Vintage Are Here!

Liz Baca of The Goods! At Marmalade Vintage

Our co-founder Liz Baca’s The Goods! At Marmalade Vintage Pop-up shop opened this past Tuesday, so I obviously had to pop by to get a chic peek of the outrageous vintage fashions that she is known for.  And Miss Baca, in her suspendered skirt, crop top, and “never not raving” lime green ass kicking boots were retro-modern vision. The shop was packed to the gills with friends, shoppers, and well wishers perusing the colorful array of clothing, shoes, and jewelry to the jams of 80′s and early 90′s freestyle tunes.

You can find everything from sparkly tops to solid bottoms,  intricately woven sweaters, and statement outerwear spanning the ages at The Goods! at Marmalade Vintage until November 3rd. Additionally, you can also find Ms. Busy Lady and the Marmalade crew sharing a booth (#69) at the Manhattan Vintage clothing show on Friday 10/21 and Saturday 10/22 from 1-6pm

Scarves have become as important as the LBD or your go-to jeans. Yup, that important. You wrap your hair in them, decorate your neck, wrap them around your shoulders, your waist, tie them on your purse…there are a million and one ways to fashion a scarf. And leave it to Rachel Roy to offer up more than a dozen different styles of scarves as part of her RACHEL Rachel Roy SS10 collection. From vibrant colors to neutrals to bold prints, a multitude of shapes and sizes, there is a scarf and price point for everyone! Not sure how to wear your scarf? Well the RRR design team got together and created this short video to show you a few suggestions on how to tie-up, wrap, knot and drape your RACHEL Rachel Roy scarf this Summer.

Recently we received a scarf and the opportunity to style it our way. The scarf we received is made of a thin gauze-like fabric, features three panels sewn together creating different lengths, comes in a multi-colored tie-dye print (another season must-have!) and retails for $38. I went between a necklace and a head-wrap (oh how I love a head wrap!), thought about how I could create pants but in the end decided on the necklace. I twisted the scarf into a “rope”, wove vintage Bakelite bangles into the “rope”,  did some fancy knots a la friendship bracelet style and there you have it! I paired my necklace with even more vintage Bakelite bangles and my vintage striped ESPRIT SPORT jumper.  All dressed up with no place to go ;)

This is how I wear my RACHEL Rachel Roy scarf. How will you wear yours?

*The scarf was received as a gift from Rachel Rachel Roy.
