Women Making History: Amanda Lopez


Amanda Lopez, 25, was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She moved to San Francisco in 2000 to study photography at San Francisco State. In 2004, she graduated with a BA in Art with an emphasis in photography. While in SF, Amanda linked up with the female photo collective, Dandelionblack. The lovely lady collective showed together at 111 Minna, SF City Hall, and at the United Trade Show in Las Vegas. In 2006, the crew also published a fashion story in the Synthesis Magazine. Outside of DandelionBlack, Amanda’s work has been published in the pages of XXL, The Source, XLR8R and Mass Appeal.In 2006, Amanda moved to LA to assist her favorite photographer, the amazing Estevan Oriol. She got to see first hand how celebrity portrait shoots go down and assist on shoots with folks like 50 cent, Kim Kardashian, and Travis Barker. Amanda loved her LA experiences but in 2007 Amanda decided to move back to Northern California to work on her own personal work.
