For today’s Women Making History feature, we honor Kelly B. of Princess of the Posse.

Since the launch of their first collection out of NYC in the Spring of 2008, Princess of the Posse has quickly gained worldwide recognition. This fashion forward women’s brand offers limited runs each season, creating designs that swing freely between art, fashion, glamour and street. This Spring season Princess of the Posse returns to the basics, presenting a collection showcasing the simplicity and beauty of black & white.

Here’s what Kelly has to say about the collection:

This collection was inspired by the minimalism of Berlin street fashion & the allure of French royalty. Always reflecting upon their NY state of mind, P.O.P. honors some of their favorite musicians (Santogold and Ghostface Killah) by citing lyrics that inspire the designers. Princess of the Posse continues to bring you the best in quality fabrics and silhouettes with all the printing and cut goods made in NYC.

Unless you have children or work in a field where you have to tend to their needs on a daily basis, say, a daycare, then it’s pretty hard to justify your collection of limited-edition dolls Bearbricks to any otherwise rational adult.

We love us some She-Bible!! These ladies churn out some of the cutest, sexiest, coziest, organicest (I know that isn’t a word but you could see where I was going with that) and most needed basics. They have recently up-dated their web-site with the new Spring/Summer goodness, lot’s of new styles and some of your favorites in new color-ways! Here are some of my favs…

For the second spring delivery, Hellz Bellz has released a series of tees that were collaborative projects with the Collabros, Missbehave Magazine and Grotesk. The Missbehave tee was so popular that it was re-released in a new colorway. We’ll fill you in on the rest of the delivery as soon as we get some pics! Until, then, you can find the tees at Hellz Bellz retailers.

Mama’s spring collection, “The Tide Is High”, is in stores now and the site was updated with the new spring lookbook. This spring’s collection was inspired by the French-Nautical look with a color palette of white, black, red and gold set against deep blue skies and sea. The lookbook was shot in San Francisco where Mama was based and is a postcard to the city where Mama designer, Gabriella Davi-Khorasanee, left her heart. The site was updated with a “magazine” lookbook that you can check out here. Be sure to have the volume up and to click on the bottom corner of the page to turn the pages. Check it out!

Finnish streetwear brand CTRL just gave us a sneak-peak of their Spring 08 collection and I found many pieces that I would love to have in my closet. Their line is more developed than most of the “streetwear” brands out there. They certainly have fun tees to choose from including ones that read “camel toe” and have mickey mouse references. But it’s their cut & sew that I’m really impressed with. From leather hoodies, to denim jackets, to fun jumpers to double layered tank tops, to really fun & funky denim, they’ve got all the key pieces a girl could need for the spring. If these pieces don’t fuel your spring fever, I don’t know what will! And just in case you like to get matchy-matchy with your man, they have a men’s collection with similar pieces.
