NYC’s William Yan provided this sneak peek photo of the graffiti covered Louis Vuitton store in SoHo. As we reported yesterday the entire exterior and interior of the store will be transformed à la Stephen Sprouse. If you’re in NY do yourself a favor and check it out IRL!

Speaking of practicality, how about this LV x Stephen Sprouse Skatedeck? Talk about “kick-pushing” in style! As part of the much anticipated LV x Sprouse collection, this beauty could be yours for a drop-in-the-bucket price of $8, 250. This piece along with the collection in its entirety will be available at the SoHo boutique on Thursday. The complete worldwide launch will follow on Feb. 2, though the Rose pieces will be available at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide starting Friday. This limited edition piece along with a limited edition Rose t-shirt will only be available at the SoHo location for the launch. Here’s what LV has to say:
The company hopes to sell three graffiti skateboards with trunks for $8,250 each, and 70 T-shirts for $250 each. “I don’t expect them to last very long,” Lalonde said. “By Friday, there probably won’t be any more left.”
If you are lucky enough to be in NYC make-sure to stop by the SoHo store to peep it’s transformation into a Stephen Sprouse wonderland! Complete with an interior and exterior bombed in neon spray paint, this is surely to be eye-candy not to miss. Proceeds from the sales of the Sprouse Collection will go to a worthy cause:
Sales will benefit Free Arts NYC, which provides under served children throughout New York City with special arts programs. Vuitton is also making an undisclosed donation to the Sprouse Estate, as well as the Stephen Sprouse Memorial Scholarship Fund at the National Academy for Design here (New York).
I’m hoping that LV teamed up with a reputable skateborad manufacture to produce these decks…although I doubt that those wheels will ever hit the pavement, for authenticity’s sake it would be nice to know. Nobody likes a poser. So, if you have pockets deep like Kanye or Pherrell (which I could see two of the three decks going to the likes of these gentlemen), then by all means, do it!! This deck would look so good next to my Chanel basketball *sigh*

LeSportsac is unveiling its newly renovated New York City flagship today, just in time for the holiday shopping season! The flagship is located at 118 Greene Street, in swank Soho, and boasts two levels for customers to enjoy the “LeSportsac Experience.” The decor of 118 Greene Street is a departure from other LeSportsac retail environments: The company tapped Kenneth Park Architects to create a unique environment suited to showing it’s distinct universe of products. The first floor features white washed oak wood and plaster reliefs, of the LeSportsac tab, along the wall. Consistent with their continued use of eco-friendly materials, the staircase is encased in black faux-leather and the lower level is floored in black faux-leather. It sounds really beautiful, the perfect backdrop to LeSportsac’s colorful, graphic bags and accessories. The NYC flagship carries LeSportsac Classics, Men’s and Guys, Stella McCartney for LeSportsac and, the Artist In Residence series. I can’t wait to go home for the holidays so I can see it for myself!

The highly anticipated arrival of the Topshop SoHo flagship is now expected to fall somewhere around mid-November—instead of mid-October as originally hoped—but just in time for Holiday shopping!
If you’re getting antsy, the U.K.-based chain will launch a U.S.-dollar version of its website tomorrow, September 9th. The site debut will also be the global launch of Topshop’s fall Kate Moss collection, her seventh for the store.

3 of the 4 totes. I was so excited to give Michelle her tote I forgot I had to take a picture first.
What a day! I’ve been hearing the buzz online for weeks about free YSL totes and I’ve been eagerly waiting for this day. I didn’t even really think I’d get my hands on some but I scoured the internet last night to find the latest scoop on where the totes would be handed out. There were many theories. Some said to go to the YSL Boutique on 57th & 5th, some said to be in the vicinity of Bryant Park (where fashion week is), Times Square, Union Square, and Soho. But what time? What street? Oh, the pressure!
Fast forward to Saturday morning, hitting snooze repeatedly but making myself get ready to get into the city in time for the Charlotte Ronson show at 11 am (story & pics to follow - stay tuned). After seeing the show I exited the tents and made my way up 6th Avenue to walk up to the Colette x Gap store. The pop-up shop is only 3 blocks from the YSL 57th St. boutique and I figured it would be good to be close by. As I exited the tent I saw a woman walking down the block with a white YSL tote. I sprinted toward her and asked “Where did you get that tote?!” She said they were handing them out down the block. Could it be that easy?? I run down the block and get a bag. I actually get 4 - I can be sneaky when I have to. They weren’t giving out multiple bags but sometimes being a “large handbag” girl comes in handy. I got a bag and then walked away and put it in my bag and did this 3 times. By the fourth time I felt like the girls would recognize me so I approached a woman nearby who looked like she did not care about the bags and told her how desperately I needed a bag for my friend but I could only get one - I was ready to offer her money - one of my crazy moments. She willingly got one for me - and I didn’t have to pay. Sometimes being polite and smiling will get you what you want. And, no, you won’t see my bags on e-bay. I have a black and white one for my own collection and I got Liz and Michelle a bag each.
The girls who were giving out the bags gave it to all passerbys, regardless of whether they knew how desirable the bags are. As they handed you a bag, the girls smiled and politely said in sweet voices, “Yves Saint Laurent.” That was it. They all had long blonde hair in pony tails and were clad in black in the same outfits - black leggings, black sneakers and black manifesto cut-off t-shirt dresses (I wanted one of those too!). I’m not sure how long the girls were there but I exited the tents around noon and from the time I first spotted them to the time they ran out I would say about 2 minutes passed. I’m not sure where else they were handing out bags but I overheard someone say that he got his in Times Square. Check out photos from the craziest 2 minutes ever after the jump!

Japanese-based retailer Uniqlo has recently updated its Soho store paying homage to manga with a line of manga-inspired t-shirts and displays to match. The displays include manga characters on the windows, manga covered floors and fixtures and a rotating t-shirt carousel. It looks pretty cool and I enjoy it when retailers really commit to a story and follow through in the merchandising. All the little details count. The manga-inspired shirts are a nice twist on a lot of the comic-inspired stuff we’re seeing out there and gives you a chance to wear what you read.

A rendering of Topshop’s first U.S. store, to open in Manhattan in September.Topshop has announced its first news to step foot into the US back in 2006 and there has been continuous rumors on where the first location will land. According to WWD, Topshop’s first Manhattan store will be at 478 Broadway in SoHo, which is currently Yellow Rat Bastard. Topshop’s owner, Sir Philip Green has an option to take a 9,500-square-foot space on the building’s top floor to use as his U.S. office and said further store openings in America are likely to come sooner rather than later. Expect the first Topshop/Topman unit in September, he is planning two more Manhattan stores, as well as flagships on the West Coast, and other units in cities including Las Vegas, Miami and Boston.
The new Topshop stores in the U.S. will be a minimum of 20,000 square feet and they all will be flagships. “I don’t want hundreds of little stores in the U.S. They all have to make economic sense,? he said. The Broadway flagship will cover 40,000 square feet over three floors — basement, ground floor and first floor — and Green said he’s hoping to preserve the “spirit? of the brand’s iconic Oxford Circus flagship. Green said he and his team are mulling the design for the Broadway store, but there likely will be a spiral staircase in addition to escalators, and customers in the basement will be able to view the two upper floors. He also has no plans to advertise in the U.S. as of yet, although there likely will be two or three events next year to mark the flagship’s opening.
