Del the Funky Homosapien - Funk Man: The Stimulus Package

Teren Delvon Jones, bka Del tha Funkee Homosapien, has hit our ears once again. With a standing history under his belt, Del has released his 14^th album titled Funk Man: The Stimulus Package, only one year after his 13^th project, Eleventh Hour. The best thing about this album: It’s FREE!!! With the help of sponsors such as Arnette, Osiris Shoes, Bandcamp.com, and Skull Candy, Del is able to give his fans those funky beats, catchy word-play, and everlasting originality for the price of zero.

Funk Man: The Stimulus Package marks almost 20 years in the hip hop game for Del. With the help of his cousin Ice Cube, Del released his first album titled, I Wish My Brother George Was Here in 1991 at the age of 18. The album was a success, but Del felt as if his creative input was limited. He released from his cousin’s direction for his next album, No Need for Alarm. Around the release of No Need for Alarm, Del also introduced the famous clique, Hieroglyphics, in which he released two full-length albums with and also introduced the independent record label, Hieroglyphics Imperial Recordings. Recently, Del tied knots with the record label Definitive Jux. With many years of conflict and fame, Del has sustained a solid foundation in the hip hop industry.

I know, I know MAGIC was 2 weeks ago but I just unpacked so leave me alone. One of the best parts of going to the show is the free stuff. We got so much great stuff and it’s always cool to see what new promo item companies come up with. This past show had a clear winner. The best promo of MAGIC this year goes to 10 Deep. Their promo was so well thought out and perfect for Vegas. It consisted of a black bag (that you could use as a laptop bag), a t-shirt and a “MAGIC survival kit” which included a lighter (to “wake and bake”), gum to keep your breathe fresh (speak freely), a toothbrush, sunglasses and a condom – all things that most people use at some point or another in Vegas.
