M.I.S.S. Michelle's Beauty Pick & Tip of the Week: Cute-icles - Revlon’s Cuticle Trimmer Makes it Easy

It’s always been amazing to me how the nail shop techs can trim cuticles down to perfection in such little time. I’m not that skilled or patient, so to keep my cuticles looking good in between visits to the nail shop, I use this week’s pick: Revlon’s Cuticle Trimmer. It’s a favorite of M.I.S.S. Liz’s and is a RECESSION BUSTER pick that will help keep your cuticles healthy and looking neat.

TIP: I find the cuticle skin is softer and therefore easier to remove when the finger tips have been immersed in water. I like to trim my cuticles right after I get out of the shower, or after I’ve soaked my cuticles in warm soapy water and/or with a couple pumps of lotion. Then I just run the blunt v-shaped blade over my cuticles, and presto, they look sooooooo much better! This technique works great for D.I.Y. manicures, see HOW TOs at M.I.S.S. M.I.S.S. Michelle's Beauty Picks of the Week: LA Colors’ Intense Bright Polish Sets

Up until last week, I was sporting long, pointed, florescent nails that I absolutely ADORED. Unfortunately, one broke, then another, then another, so it was time to bid them farewell, (they were my natural nails), so they are now short and chic instead. I love the look of neon nails, but can’t justify spending more than a few bucks on this trend, so I was super excited to score this week’s RECESSION BUSTER PICK: LA Colors Intense Bright Polish Set in High Voltage, for only $3 at my local flea market. The coverage is great (smooth, even), considering it’s inexpensive nail polish, however there is some slight staining of the nail, but this occurs across the board with darker nail shades regardless of brand. The High Voltage set comes with four polishes in: electric blue, hot pink, lime green, and purple, all of which have a slight shimmer to them. The Explosive set also featured in LA Colors’ Intense line is wonderful as well, and comes with teal, magenta, orange and purple polishes having a flat finish. You can’t beat the pricing on these little babies, ($1.50 each)!!!
