The lineup for famed California music fest Coachella has just been leaked, and news flash, it's totally EPIC!

Ah, the glory of summer! Shorts. Popsicles. Beaches. And… Coachella! The Californian kick-off music fest of the summer has just announced the line up, and news flash, it’s totally EPIC!

The likes of Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, Muse, and the Gorillaz will headline over the three-day festival. The line-up of smaller indie acts is somewhat of a Brooklyn hipster-fest takeover, featuring the likes of the Dirty Projectors, MGMT and Grizzly Bear. The heralded second-coming of dancehall, Major Lazer, will also perform at the fest, while old-skool heads can look forward to De La Soul, and Sly and the Family Stone blowing the house down. Also on the bill are The xx, Pheonix, La Roux, Gil Scott-Heron, Sia, Grace Jones, She&Him, the Girls, Little Dragon, and Passion Pit. Oh, and some dude named Thom Yorke???

The festival will take place in 87 days, from April 16th to the 18th. Tickets for the event will be on sale this Friday, the 22nd of January via the festival’s official website.

Women Making History: Texas Malika Toussaint-Baptiste

Today’s Woman Making History is Texas Malika Toussaint-Baptiste, a freelance artist and photographer living in New York City. Texas first picked up a camera in 2005 and got her start and nickname “That Kid Texas” shooting punk rock shows at CBGBs and other pockets of New York City nightlife.  Her unique style of portraiture amidst the backdrop of New York’s most notable tastemakers and parties gained her and her self-titled blog quick attention.  But as a lover of humble people, simple life and vegan food her interests soon grew larger than her roots as a nightlife documentarian.

In 2007, Texas became a partner in the media company The New Pop, sited as a crew of artists to watch in 2009 by URB magazine.  She also joined acclaimed New York – San Francisco art and design collective 21st Century Maroon Colony which represents the Afro-Triangle and 2/3s world.
