To say that Miss Sara Rosen is prolific, would be a grave understatement. As you read on about this creative innovator’s achievements, you’ll quickly understand why we are proud and pleased to honor her as a Women Making History. Here we go…

“I’ve come to realize, it’s not like I spot the bestselling projects. But that these books get into the right hands, if only a couple thousand of them, means new directions can be spun out of each and every one of them.” -Sara Rosen, Format Mag, April 2008

Sara Rosen is the Associate Publisher and Senior Vice President of powerHouse Books, Publisher of Miss Rosen Editions, Editor of powerHouse Magazine, and former Executive Director of The powerHouse Arena, Brooklyn. During her decade at powerHouse, she has created books, exhibitions, and special events that spark and influence trends with projects including New York Photo Festival, Brooklyn (May 2008); We B*Girlz 25th Anniversary Breakin’ Event at Lincoln Center Out of Doors, New York (Aug. 2006); and the graffiti episode of NBC’s “The Apprentice” (Feb. 2005). Miss Rosen has also written for the Telegraph, Swindle, Whitlewall, and Staf magazines and been profiled in Paper, Juxtapoz, Style Monte Carlo, Spread ArtCulture, Publishers Weekly, and Heeb, among many others.
