Ombre Animal Print - Rawr!

I got the chance to check out Nine West’s Pre-Fall collection, set to hit stores in June and July of 2010. It’s never too early to start formulating your future style, and shoes are a great place to start. Much like employment, you gotta work from the bottom up. So here we have a logical continuation from the styles that what we saw in Nine West’s Spring collection, but traveling further into ornamentation, embellishment, 80’s statement style, and moving away from the ubiquitous gladiator and caged silhouettes we’ve seen a lot recently into shoe-bootie (or shootie as they’re calling it), covered platforms, and party pumps.  As usual, the best thing about Nine West is that they make attractive and affordable footwear that is appropriate for the workplace and for dressing up.

Pinched Suede Open Toe Heels

As we get closer to the fall and prepare for the darker colors of the season, footwear obviously follows suit. Suedes are introduced, and either stand by themselves or are matched with leather and hues get a little warmer to be paired with the the weather and surrounding colors of the season.

Ruffled Leather Shooties on Platforms

Embellishment continues to be important with this collection bringing extra pizazz to simple silhouettes; we see ruffles, gathers, miniature studs, sequins, multiple textures and chains untilized. Similar to the pastel color story seen this spring, this collection also has a cooler pastel collection, which seems to be a logical progression for the customer that loves pastels. Primary colors inspired by the 80’s also make a splash, as well as some variety on animal prints, like the ombre animal print, as well on colored sequin zebra stripe pumps and flats.

Mini-Stud Shooties, and Boots

The above shootie silhouette makes a big show in the collection, appearing in a few different colors and styled in a couple fabrications. The platform that the shoe sits on is also seen throughout the collection perfect for a more fashion-forward look, and great for the girl who wants a little bit more height (really, who doesn’t?)

To be expected, Nine West came through with another varied collection likely to please many shoppers, whether they are looking for the perfect pump to accent their rocker look, or something to wear to the office with a happy hour follow up. LUTZ by Robert Clergerie AW 09/10

There is something so naughty and nice about the AW 09/10 LUTZ by Robert Clergerie collection.  Those innocent rounded toes and wingtip details paired with platforms, ankle straps and stacked heels speak both to my inner “nice lady” AND my dare devil fashion vixen.  After the success of the SS09 collection these two design houses have come together once again for a limited edition shoe collection. This collection draws inspiration from a shoe classic: the traditional derby shoe and are available in the following color-ways: black, black & navy, black & brown and black & grey.

The three models available are crafted out of the finest leather with the utmost attention to detail. The knee high boots are constructed to hug your leg, made from a “silky” stretch calf-skin. All styles feature details from the traditional derby shoe: perforated markings and a decorative toecap having a point that extends toward the wearer. These details paired with the high, chunky heel and platform wedge are are MUST for this Fall.
