M.A.C. x DSquared² Collection

A collaboration stemming from a solid working relationship 12 seasons long, DSquared² joined forces with the team at M.A.C. to develop a makeup collection inspired by their Fall/Winter 2009 runway show.

With inspiration derived from celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen twins, M.A.C. Vice President of Makeup Artistry Gordon Espinet describes the new collection as “effortless and not overly done or perfect.”

Built around a strong emphasis on on a smoky, dramatic, iridescent shimmering eye and a neutral lip colour, the new collection features the tools and cosmetics needed to recreate your own individual look. Whilst the packaging is simplistic, it offers a bold ‘DSquared²‘ stamp, which I think suits the chic vibe this collection has going on.

For those of you lucky enough to live in North America, this line drops on Sep 28th, for anyone else – keep your eyes on the M.A.C. website for a drop sometime in October.

The Olsen Twins have signed on with Steve Madden to expand their Elizabeth & James collection to include footwear. The shoes won’t be released under the Steve Madden name, rather, Steve Madden will hire a specific designer and sales rep for the Elizabeth & James brand while The Olsen Twins act as creative directors. Based on what I’ve seen them come up with, I’m guessing the shoes will be black, some will be heels, some will be really clunky and they’ll have a Rock ‘n Roll edge. The shoes drop in mid-2009 at specialty Elizabeth & James retailers.

The Olsen Aliens, I mean twins, have teamed up with Robert Lee Morris to launch a jewelry collection as part of their brand, Elizabeth and James.  The ladies decided on jewelry as their next target because of their love of baubles.

‘We both have a love for accessories and they’ve always been important to us from Day One,’ Mary-Kate said. ‘They can help make an outfit or make you feel different. Maybe a ring brings you good luck, or you got it as a present and it means so much to you. It’s a feeling that you get when you put on something that is special.’
