As the spring season nears, you might be wondering how to update your wardrobe in these times of hardship.Maybe you have your eye on something new, but it won’t be in your closet until it hits the clearance racks. Yet, you are BORED with your clothes. How does a fashionista look fresh without breaking her wallet?By swapping, of course!Clothing swaps are becoming every season’s latest trend, ranging from a cozy swap at a friend’s house to posh events complete with champagne and facials. Any way you do it, swapping clothes saves your budget and the environment.
Bay Area folks, you can green your wardrobe without much green in your pocket. This Saturday, February 28th, start your spring cleaning early and swap out your closet at Swap! Not Shop! a clothing exchange hosted by Homeygrown.

Our friend M.I.S.S. Sondra (Cookie Cutter and “The Sweatpant Diaries”), a designer at Mitchell & Ness saw how much love Liz and I had for the Oakland Raiders when she saw the Mama Winter “Mi Vida Loca” collection. So, she sent us the real deal licensed Oakland Raiders beanies. These beanies are awesome - from the giant “Oakland” across the hat to the retro black and white pom pom on top, Liz and I were ecstatic to get these - so much so that we put them on right away! Merci Sondra!

Yes of course fashion and beauty are exciting, but one of my other favorite pastimes is discovering GOOD new music, and the following two bands, Hottub and Chow Nasty are fo sho, Ah ma Gawd worthy. Visit Hottub’s Myspace page:http://www.myspace.com/hottub94608 Shows in California from Feb. – May 2008
The ladies of Hottub with their cheeky femme-bot rhymes are hardcore rapping machines and Chow Nasty’s indietronic funk is just crazy, quirky, fun. Both bands are San Francisco East Bay natives, and both are guilty of marrying funny, clever lyrics to righteous good beats, and have a hell of a lot of flair. So listen up folks, if you like to get your dance on, gather up your posse and check them out ASAP!!
Ah ma gawd, so fresh, it’s raw….
