The Sony x Disney S Series Walkmen come in a rainbow of colors
It’s officially official: if you’re tired of drab electronics and want something bathed in an obscene amount of cuteness, you need to get up and haul arse to Japan. After all, the country is only home to more Hello Kitty cell phones, digital cameras, and Mp3 players than you can shake a bundle of sticks at. Feel free to add these recently released Disney x Sony S Series Walkmen to the kawaii gadgets pile. The Sony S640 and S740 Walkmen already featured a decidedly mouse flavored control scheme on the front, but now you can make the connection more official with an engraved image of Mickey, Minnie, or the couple together gracing the back of your Mp3 player. Each unit also has a 2 inch LCD screen, an FM radio, video playback capability, and an epic 42 hour battery life. Sony has even managed to include some very capable noise canceling headphones with each player. Available in a wide variety of hues, including black, green, gold, and violet ,the S640 and S740 each come in either 8GB or 16GB flavors with prices starting at 13,800 yen ($152) and going all the way up to 18,800 yen ($207). Luckily, in this internet connected age, you can order these from the Japanese Sony Style store from the comfort of your futon.

M.I.S.S. Techcessories: Sony S Series Walkman
Looking for a new mp3 player but don’t want to fork any more money over to Apple? You’re in luck, because Sony is dropping a new set of players donning the venerable Walkman name. The updated half inch thick S series Walkmen coming out this month will be available in 8GB and 16GB flavors and include a stunning 2.4-inch QVGA LCD, FM tuning and recording capabilities, and support for a whole slew of audio and video formats including mp3, protected WMA, AAC, H.264, MPEG-4 and WMV. But the standout feature are the speakers integrated into the front of the device. Utilizing “Clear Audio” and “Digital Liniear Phase Speaker System” technologies, all that really means is that people should be able to hear you loud and clear as you jam out on the train unencumbered by pesky things like headphones. Speaking of headphones, you can expect to get a whopping 42 hours of battery life when playing music with the included ones or 6.5 hours when watching videos, but that number drops down to 17 hours and five hours respectively if you do decide to have that public jam session (and you know you will).
You’ll be able to get one of these in black (pictured above), pink, violet, or red for the very recession friendly prices of $110 for the 8GB model and $130 for the 16GB one.

Onkyo Bluetooth Headphones
Isn’t it about time you showed your ears some appreciation and replaced your iPod earbuds with something a lot less…crappy? Check out
Onkyo’s MHP-UW2 Bluetooth Headphones for iPod. Designed with a frequency response of 50Hz~20kHz, these headphones provide an amazing, recording studio quality sound without the need for pesky wires. They’re encased in a sleek metallic shell, feature remote controls on the headphones themselves, and have soft, buttery ear-pads that will leave your ears feeling nice and comfortable after extending listening sessions. Battery life lasts a good eight hours (on a three-hour charge), and Onkyo has thankfully included both a USB charging cable and a couple of mini-jack cables so you can keep listening via wire when the juice runs out. At $270 they cost about as much as a brand new iPod, but it’s totally worth it so you can hear every last note in that one Kenny G song you love so much. Available
now.
