Married to the MOB’s “Lost Summer”

Married to the MOB's "Lost Summer" SS09

Married to the MOB's "Lost Summer" SS09

It should come as no surprise that Leah McSweeny has based the MTTM 2009 Summer collection on that Summer when a good girl goes bad; where previous collections had all-over four leaf clovers and kisses, the Summer collection has cannabis. Looks as though Married to the MOB is holding down the spot as purveyor of up-front fashion with an “IDGAF” attitude.

The MTTM Summer 09 collection  (or any of the collections for that matter) is not for the faint of heart. If you’re a woman with guts and an affinity for bright colors, sweet mary jane, and phrases like “F*** the rest” you’ll have no problem rockin’ this collection. With a shirt that reads “Well-behaved bitches rarely make history,” which is an adaptation of the famed quote by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, the clothes pretty much speak for themselves. Because let’s be honest, a M.O.B. can’t waste her time having to verbally express what she’s about when her clothes can briefly and bluntly do it for her.

If you’ve been following MTTM you probably noticed the venture into more cut and sew pieces. While the screen print tee will forever be the signature MTTM piece, it’s fun to see that they’re adding shorts, skirts and rompers to the mix. Of course, a Summer MTTM collection would not be complete without a bikini. For Summer ‘09 the “Dutchie” bikini comes in a black and white or purple and white floral/cannabis print that’s reversible to a solid color. Married to the Mob Spring Collection, Part Deux

If Married to the Mob’s first spring ‘09 collection wasn’t enough to satiate your palate, luckily the brand has more coming your way. You already saw Kid Sister rocking her MTTM gear, now get yourself ready for the second wave. This spring MOB is venturing into new territory, in addition to some twists on old favorites.

We all know that MTTM is famous for creating edgy, in-your-face tees and curve-hugging denim, but this spring MTTM is changing it up a bit with the first MOB dress! That’s right, for all you ladies who’ve saturated your closet with Leah McSweeney’s famous tees, now you’ll have the chance to glam yourself up a bit more with a Most Official Dress - the “Flight Dress.”  The universally flattering silhouette features a bubble hem and cinched waist, perfect for accentuating that hourglass figure while at the same time sporting a stitched “MOB” detail.

For a look that’s a little bit less dressy (but still just as chic) is the “Say It Loud” T-shirt dress - ideal for pairing with your MOB graffiti leggings! (Or any leggings for that matter.)  With a bit more coverage than your usual tee, you’re sure to catch the eyes of passersby with this garment that reads, “MOB rules the world & everything in it since ‘82!”

Also new for the warmer weather is the distressed wash on MTTM’s 24th Street jean.  Once again, flattering and curve-hugging . . . And easily worn with a favorite pair of sneakers or your newest, hottest stilettos.  But you didn’t think that MTTM would release a collection without including any of its infamous tees, would you? The brand stays true to its roots this spring with a fresh batch of colorful tops (lilac, anyone?), as well as a less demure, “Sex Sells” tee.

Once again, Leah and the ladies of MTTM know exactly what us ladies want and need in our wardrobe! The array of pieces is sure to please, and with the addition of MOB dresses it’s obvious that Leah McSweeney’s got a lot more up her sleeve that we can’t wait to see.

You can purchase all of the pieces in the collection online here. Read the full story to see more images!

Married To The Mob x Nike Dunk High Supreme

Hey Ladies!  Nike has teamed up with Married to the Mob to create a Dunk Supreme for the ladies as a Tier 0 release.  Finally!  It’s about time that Nike has realized that women want special-edition kicks.  Nike has recently started working with more independent women designers like X-girl and Claw Money and now, we’ve got the MOB Dunk High Supreme.  The shoe features a woven cotton upper with black patent details, leather lining, gold metal flap clips and lace lock.  Word on the street is that the shoe is inspired by Chanel - the woven cotton is supposed to mimic the tweed from Chanel jackets and the gold patent toe references the Chanel toe-cap shoes.  The shoe drops in Nike Tier 0 accounts on November 8th!  Check out more photos after the jump.
