Visionaire is a “multi-format album of fashion and art” published 3 times a year in limited numbers.  Each issue has a different theme and format, and the lastest issue, N° 55, is entitled “Surprise”, appropriately enough because this issue is devoted to pop-ups. Visionaire produced this issue in collaboration with House of Krug and “Surprise” include pop-ups by Sophie Calle, Andreas Gursky, Cai Guo-Qiang, Steven Klein, Yayoi Kusama, Alasdair McLellan, Steven Meisel, Guido Mocafico, Nicola Formichetti/Gareth Pugh, Sølve Sundsbø, and Mario Testino. The pop-ups come encased in a dark purple cloth-covered case with a magnetized closure and engraved metal plaque. Visionaire N° 55 is printed in a limited edition of 4000 copies. It seems like there’s no better way to promote a product than to get a famous pretty face behind it. In the latest on starlet x fashion news, Tod’s announced that Gwyneth Paltrow is featured in the Fall 09 Ad campaign. Tod’s also got Dennis Hopper on board to write and direct a 4 minute “film” (read: commercial) for the Pashmy bag - the bag in the ads with Sienna Miller a few seasons ago. The short premiered at Cannes, but you can view the behind the scenes teaser on the Tod’s site here. The print ads were shot in Capri by Mario Testio - can’t wait to see what those come out like!

On A Side Note: Gwyneth is matched with Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man, which I saw a few weekends back. The movie was fun and entertaining but the best part was Robert Downey Jr, who is sexy as ever. He was on GQ’s May cover while co-star GP was Vogue’s May cover girl.

When famed fashion photographer Mario Testino isn’t taking pictures of a few of his favorite supermodels(Gisele, Kate, Natalia), he’s been collecting a personal archive of off-screen moments, often taken spontaneously before,during, and after Hollywood’s most spectacular and exclusive parties. The 300-page book features moments in color and black and white, featuring more than 100 contemporary stars including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (and some of the kids), Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tom Ford, Adrien Brody, Kate Hudson, Claudia Schiffer, Gisele Bundchen, Michelle Pfeiffer, George Clooney, Madonna, Anjelica Huston and Matt Dillon. Note, he even got Nicole Kidman to write his forward, cool right? Well, if you can stomach the six hundred dollar price tag(yikes!), it hits stores September 26.
