The Fall 2010 L.A.M.B Fashion Presentation took place last Thursday, February 11th, at the MAC & Milk Studios in New York City. The collection rounded together all of the themes that continue to identify Stefani’s brand, “vintage, boudoir, military, fifties, sexy, and futuristic.” Gwen said that this collection was “kind of Hollywood vintage naughty girl, soldier girl, modern futuristic girl- all clashing together.”
The collection was the embodiment of ready-to-wear. Just about everything looked wearable, fashion-forward and ready for the racks at Nordstom. Draped tops, tailored military jackets, relaxed trousers, skinny jeans, leather pants, and wool trenchcoats will definitely get some attention on the selling floor. Thank you fashion gods, for commercial designers that make clothes, shoes, and bags that I can actually wear.
M·A·C artist, Charlotte Tilbury, keyed the makeup. She described it as, “1930’s prostitute-trampy, smokey eye, deep “rougeoir” lips, and beautiful pale skin.” Gwen’s tried and true hairstylist, Danilo, created the shiny, old Hollywood waves with the cropped bang hairstyles.
At the presentation, the new Harajuku Lovers scents for summer, “Sunshine Cuties,” were debuted. The ladies from nitro:licious were in the building for the presentation and have some really great shots of the merchandising that is sure to refresh fragrance counters with the adorable new Love, Angel, Music, and Baby characters.
Check out the nitro:licious website for close up shots of the killer platform shoes and bags that were also merchandised for editors to get a sneak peek at. I’m already imagining the outfits I could pair together with the lace platform pumps and the utilitarian styled lace-up booties.
