Today LVMH announced the purchase of Hublot, a swiss watch company, adding to it’s jewelry and watch division which also consists of Zenith, Tag Heuer, Chaumet and Fred brands. With LVMH at it’s back, Hublot can take it’s growth to the next level and is upping the ante on the luxury watch game. Before the purchase I had not heard of Hublot but a quick look on their site and I saw that I could easily be a fan. They have “dressier” models like the ones shown above but they are best known for their Big Bang watch, which they introduced for women earlier this year - two words - black diamonds. Can’t to see what else is in store for Hublot now that LVMH has their back.

Since leaving Dior Homme, Heide Slimane has kept busy by playing with Erin Wasson, Daria Werbowy, and most recently Pete Doherty.

Other than taking pictures (and probably eating baby food in between shoots), the man who can list Kate Moss and Helena Christenson as admirers has been pretty quiet. (Although, it was reported last month that he was in talks with LVMH to launch his own fashion house.)

It’s sad. But in the meantime, anybody needing to satiate their Slimane fix should check out his new “fashion diary� that has just been added to his website.

According to WWD, the diary includes “striking close-ups of actress-singer Charlotte Gainsbourg, rocker Pete Doherty in a topcoat and fedora and scores of nattily dressed young men in nightclubs.�

Further, the picture albums “go back to Slimane’s days at Yves Saint Laurent and include castings, fittings and backstage scenes.�
