Monsters, eyeballs, eyelashes, pink tongues and bossy bears will scare the hell out of San Francisco and charm it with complete ugliness and cuteness. Ugly Doll and Bossy Bear founders David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim will be celebrated at the double punch gallery by presenting some “things” from their collection of work from 2001 to 2008. This captures the best of what they made in the past 7 years of their collaboration as toy designers. The selection includes collectibles such as Kaiju, Noupa, Uglydoll vinyls, Choco and Minty, Bossy Bear and Spider Boom. Warning: some of the pieces are long sold out and very rare.

A few weeks back I announced the opening of a show called Sweet Sunny Temper at Double Punch Gallery in San Francisco. I finally had the chance to check out the show and it was one of the best I’ve seen. Lian Ladia curated the show and all the artists are bay area ladies: Tink (Jessica Whiteside), Leah Brawley, Nathalie Roland, Kelly Tunstall and Fawn Gehweiler. I’m not an art critic, I just know what I like - and I loved this show!! And, even better, all of the art is very reasonably priced starting from as little as $25!! If you’ve wanted to start buying art this is a great time to start by supporting lady artists. Or, if it’s not your cup of tea these pieces would make great gifts with the holidays around the corner. The show runs through November 17th at Double Punch in San Francisco.
