MTTM “Gramercy Gardens” Spring 2 Collection

MTTM Spring 2010 Gramercy Gardens: Flower Power pullover and Lucky Stick tank

Married to the Mob (MTTM) released their second Spring collection titled “Gramercy Gardens,” and from the looks of it there are plenty of tees and tanks to go around. The daisy motif returns on select pieces, one of them being a pair of indigo wash jeans.

The stand out piece has to be the satin jumper, which seems most refined amongst tees that read “If it ain’t stiff it ain’t worth it” or “eat drink f*** sleep breathe bleed cry live.”

Aside from the clothes, it was cool to see the McSweeney sisters double the trouble by posing together in the campaign. Nothin’ like a good ol’ family affair to give a label real roots.

Married to the Mob: Fall 2 Delivery “So High Society”

Sarah McSweeney for Married to the Mob: Fall 2 "So High Society"

Sarah McSweeney for Married to the Mob: Fall 2 "So High Society"

What are little streetwear girls made of? Sugar and spice, and all things naughty and nice, that’s what little streetwear girls are made of!

The designing bitches with the mostest, streetwear legends Married to the Mob, are certainly taking the naughty-and-nice thing to heart with their Fall 2 drop–”So High Society”. Modeled by MOB staple Sarah McSweeney AKA Sweet Sixteen, the collection was inspired by the finest of feminine wiles: “gold, garters, see-through materials… being a burn book bitch, raspberries… sex, drugs & cash…Marilyn Monroe…bubble sleeves, and backless cuts”.  Not mad at it!

Nor am I mad at the cute cut-and-sew pieces, particularly the sheer button down with plaid “MOB” text stripes. A black-and-gold varsity-esque cardigan is a stand-out piece as well, complete with MOB logo lips embroidered on the upper left chest.  Another favorite was the simple tank dress, which can be worn with your favorite kicks or your finest of heels. Can multipurpose ever be a bad thing?

Highlighting the harmony between street and silkier pieces, “So High Society” features typical MOB fare like basic graphic Ts, skinny leg zip pocket jeans in both denim and black shades, and velour zip-up jackets. A newer addition is a puffer vest with a leafy print, which will probably prove to be essential come post Turkey Day. My favorite piece by far though is a simple sheer tee in black with signature “Most Official Bitches” graffitied on the front. Here’s to hoping at least one of those graffiti-print “bitches” is strategic enough to cover all your lady bits, because that would be nothing short of awesome.

Styled by Radio Rose and shot by Brooke Nipar, check out the rest of the lookbook on Mobliving and wait impatiently  for this collection to drop at your favorite stockist like Karmaloop soon. Go ahead, cop a few pieces… play it naughty for a change!

M.I.S.S. Magic: Married to the MOB

Preview of MTTM Spring/Summer 2010

Preview of MTTM Spring/Summer 2010

M.O.B.’s Leah McSweeney is known for bringing some of the hottest looks in ladies street wear, and the new Married to the MOB collection is no exception. Featuring new silhouettes in casual and outerwear, along with the denim, banging jackets tops and sweaters we’ve all come to love MTTM for, this collection will be a hot one.  Although we could not photograph any full pieces of the line, we were able to snap this little sneak peek.

Married to the MOB’s “Lost Summer”

Married to the MOB’s “Lost Summer”

Married to the MOB's "Lost Summer" SS09

Married to the MOB's "Lost Summer" SS09

It should come as no surprise that Leah McSweeny has based the MTTM 2009 Summer collection on that Summer when a good girl goes bad; where previous collections had all-over four leaf clovers and kisses, the Summer collection has cannabis. Looks as though Married to the MOB is holding down the spot as purveyor of up-front fashion with an “IDGAF” attitude.

The MTTM Summer 09 collection  (or any of the collections for that matter) is not for the faint of heart. If you’re a woman with guts and an affinity for bright colors, sweet mary jane, and phrases like “F*** the rest” you’ll have no problem rockin’ this collection. With a shirt that reads “Well-behaved bitches rarely make history,” which is an adaptation of the famed quote by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, the clothes pretty much speak for themselves. Because let’s be honest, a M.O.B. can’t waste her time having to verbally express what she’s about when her clothes can briefly and bluntly do it for her.

If you’ve been following MTTM you probably noticed the venture into more cut and sew pieces. While the screen print tee will forever be the signature MTTM piece, it’s fun to see that they’re adding shorts, skirts and rompers to the mix. Of course, a Summer MTTM collection would not be complete without a bikini. For Summer ‘09 the “Dutchie” bikini comes in a black and white or purple and white floral/cannabis print that’s reversible to a solid color. Married to the Mob Spring Collection, Part Deux

Married to the Mob Spring 2009 collection, part 2

Married to the Mob Spring 2009 collection, part 2

If Married to the Mob’s first spring ‘09 collection wasn’t enough to satiate your palate, luckily the brand has more coming your way. You already saw Kid Sister rocking her MTTM gear, now get yourself ready for the second wave. This spring MOB is venturing into new territory, in addition to some twists on old favorites.

We all know that MTTM is famous for creating edgy, in-your-face tees and curve-hugging denim, but this spring MTTM is changing it up a bit with the first MOB dress! That’s right, for all you ladies who’ve saturated your closet with Leah McSweeney’s famous tees, now you’ll have the chance to glam yourself up a bit more with a Most Official Dress – the “Flight Dress.”  The universally flattering silhouette features a bubble hem and cinched waist, perfect for accentuating that hourglass figure while at the same time sporting a stitched “MOB” detail.

For a look that’s a little bit less dressy (but still just as chic) is the “Say It Loud” T-shirt dress – ideal for pairing with your MOB graffiti leggings! (Or any leggings for that matter.)  With a bit more coverage than your usual tee, you’re sure to catch the eyes of passersby with this garment that reads, “MOB rules the world & everything in it since ‘82!”

Also new for the warmer weather is the distressed wash on MTTM’s 24th Street jean.  Once again, flattering and curve-hugging . . . And easily worn with a favorite pair of sneakers or your newest, hottest stilettos.  But you didn’t think that MTTM would release a collection without including any of its infamous tees, would you? The brand stays true to its roots this spring with a fresh batch of colorful tops (lilac, anyone?), as well as a less demure, “Sex Sells” tee.

Once again, Leah and the ladies of MTTM know exactly what us ladies want and need in our wardrobe! The array of pieces is sure to please, and with the addition of MOB dresses it’s obvious that Leah McSweeney’s got a lot more up her sleeve that we can’t wait to see.

You can purchase all of the pieces in the collection online here. Read the full story to see more images!

MOB Fall ‘08 Collection Released

Married to the Mob has released it’s much anticipated Fall ‘08 collection.  The line has grown tremendously from t-shirts to include jackets, denim, tops, sweatshirts, hoodies, leggings and hats.  The collection is really solid and consists of really strong pieces – all conveying the MOB message.  The photos, shot by Lynnette Astaire, are gorgeous and feature the O.G. MOB cover girl Sarah “Sweet 16″ McSweeney.  The line looks great and many congrats to Leah on a beautiful collection.  My only pet peeve?? I really, really wish the jeans had the signature kisses on the back pockets so they could be “Kiss My Ass” jeans.  Maybe next time.  For now, you can get the whole collection on line on the MTTM site.

Check out more images from the look book after the jump . . .
