Jeremy Scott for Longchamp Fall 09: LePilage Colonel, Sergent

For Autumn/Winter 2009, classic French accessory house Longchamp and designer Jeremy Scott have teamed up to present us with four military-inspired options. First up, a classic and tasteful twist on Longchamp’s ever-so-popular Le Pliage tote: dubbed The Colonel, this sassed-up version of the classic bag is available in navy and a gray/blue shade; each is embroidered with military medals (two on the smaller size, three on the larger).

Next is the Sergent, which features medals decorated all over the bag. The Sergent is available in a universal tote style, as well as in Longchamp’s smaller, go-anywhere Planetes design.

This mini collection is definitely appropriate for the back-to-school season, and we love the toned-down colors for autumn weather!

Longchamp is best know for their Le Pliage bags that are perfect for travel because they are compact and durable. Now, you can customize your own with a large array of colors to choose from and with custom embroidery.

To limit this brand to the Le Pliage totes is doing them a disservice. Their selection of leather bags, and accessories are so good and they are a refreshing break from the usual other luxury bag suspects. I especially love some of the bags in the men’s collection and think they would be a complement to any ladies’ arsenal.

Longchamp also teamed up with Paris-based DJ Michel Gaubert to create a collection of 8 pieces with a sound-inspired print on pieces ranging from ipod cases to travel bags.
