I’ve visited Las Vegas twice a year for the last six years. Each time I go, I do the tradeshow dance and though you get to read the fruits of our labor here on M.I.S.S., it seems a lot more glamorous than it actually is . . . until now. Last month, we were invited to review the new Chanel Ultra-Luxe Boutique located between the Hotel Wynn and the Hotel Encore. Outshining everything around it, the new Chanel Ultra-Luxe boutique is the first of its kind, and is considered the “jewel box” of the Chanel empire .

Designed by Peter Marino, the architect ignored Las Vegas clichés and instead perpetuated the elegance of Chanel’s style with clean lines and simple geometry reminiscent of the 1930s. Not all Chanel boutiques are created equal - and this one is very special. No detail was left untouched - only the finest materials were used in the boutique design from the marble floors to the silk between sheets of glass that divided the rooms. In addition to the usual apparel and accessories you would find at other Chanel Boutiques, this Boutique has an entire section devoted to exotic leather handbags - python and crocodile galore, these handbags are the ultimate luxury.

Many of the bags at the boutique are even more limited than the usual Chanel bags.   Ruby, the sweetest sales associate, showed us handbags that were 1 in 5 (in the country).  I was offered (and did not turn down) an opportunity to try on the most expensive item I’ve ever touched in my entire life - a black crocodile purse with a chain strap made of white gold.  It didn’t stop there . . . the iconic double C’s were made of platinum and encrusted with 334 diamonds (that’s 3.56 carats!).  This gorgeous bag is valued at $235,000 - THAT is the caliber of product they carry at the Ultra-Luxe Boutique!

I could go on and on about all of the amazing products we saw that day, but my mere words can’t describe the beauty, let alone the awe that we were in. Ruby pointed out all the details that made each product unique - there’s a reason it’s called Haute Couture!  From beads that are hand-blown and then hand-sewn on to garments, python boots and feather capes - everything is exquisite and made with the finest quality and workmanship.  If you are ever in Las Vegas, make sure to stop by the Chanel Ultra-Luxe Boutique between the Hotel Wynn and the Hotel Encore, and be sure to ask for Ruby. Day 1 of the tradeshow hustle included everything from Chanel to Jeremy Scott to vintage to the most loved Doc Marten’s. Comfort is key when doing this dance. You are on your feet for hours! So unless you’ve been hired to be a tradeshow “model,” we suggest leaving the heels at the hotel . . . your feet will thank you later.

M.I.S.S. had a chance to view what Hellz-Bellz has in store for their Summer 09 delivery. As to be expected Hellz is going to bring you lots of cute silhouettes, smart graphics and bold patterns. We’re loving the short-alls with the button-down panel, a feature that’s become a HB trademark. Seems Hellz is taking a more avant-garde look with over-sized tees, 80’s cut dolman sleeved zip hoodies and the cutest gathered bubbled skirts. Times are tight, so start saving now ladies…you’re going to want it all.

Having your manicure game on lock is almost as important as your outfit. The ladies on the scene at SLATE at Magic had the nails going on! From the above fav spotted at the Mishka booth to Mama keeping it classy with a gray and black french mani. The ladies for the most part kept the nail lengths on the shorter side but made up for the length in design!

Taking the word for “kiss” from each of their native languages partners Rana Shoar and Alejandra Hernandez, formed Boos & Besito…Boos comes from the Farsi language and Besito is Spanish. An eclectic mix of handmade goodies, Shoar and Hernandez offer up items made of recycled and deadstock vintage fabrics. No item retails for over $30, Hernandez explained this was a “recession reaction”…thank-you ladies, our wallets appreciate it! This was their first time showing the line and from the looks of things I think we’ll be seeing more from these ladies. From “Shoe Blooms”, fabric flowers for your footwear to bows for your hair, fringed trimmed scarves to slouchy “Booties” you’re sure to find something you love! Available now at FRUITION are these 3″ wide, one-of-a-kind, hand-made pin-back badges from Jeremy Scott. Made of scrap fabrics from Jeremy’s past collections you can own a little from “Food Fight” or the “Right to Bear Arms” collection to name a few. Fabrics vary from jersey to spandex…some graphics are more scarce than others, like the waffle print from a very limited swimwear collection. Freddie Rojas has spent his entire life in the fashion industry, from his childhood to his Rojas clothing line and boutique.  He knows every aspect of the business from marketing, design, pattern making and production - and it shows in collection after collection. Each season, he creates clothing for men and women that is wearable and effortlessly stylish. He works with and develops new textiles, designs flattering and unique silhouettes and is always ahead of the trends. For Spring/Summer 2009, his inspiration for the collection is Blossom, think floral prints, bustiers, mini-skirts and button-up tops that are longer in the back.  Freddie manages to take a fictional teenager’s innocent look and give it a sexy modern spin that leaves me wanting every piece!  I especially love the pearl necklace/ties - so cute!  The color palatte is black, light blue, violet and mustard yellow with white as the unifying color. All of the pieces coordinate with each other and are perfect for day, night, work and play.
