Last week, Liz and I had the pleasure of guest speaking at the Ladies Lotto San Francisco meeting at vintage boutique, Ver Unica. It was great to see all the ladies who came through, catch up with friends and make new ones. The evening was fun, and hopefully informative, and was topped off with refreshments and vintage shopping. If you haven’t been to Ver Unica, you must go! All of the pieces in the store are hand selected and amazing. There was lots of “oohing” and “aaahing” and I’m definitely going to save up my “birthday and x-mas $$” to go shopping there. Many thanks to Cindy, owner of Ver Unica, Natalie of Ladies Lotto, Reina for taking photos and all the ladies who came out. More pictures after the jump and check out the Ladies Lotto site for video and a slideshow.

Last week I had the honor and pleasure of attending the Ladies Lotto meeting in NYC. I have enjoyed all the meeting I have attended on both coast’s. The attendees are always an amazing and talented group and the guest speakers always inspiring. I was especially excited for this meeting in particular as the guest speaker was Camella Elhke, the original founder and designer of 555 Soul (Triple 5 Soul). We gathered at I Heart and spent an evening with Camella as she talked with us about her beginnings in fashion (before there was the term “streetwear”). Know your roots. Be inspired ladies.
Camella talks about how she got started…

While in L.A. last week I was able to make it to the Ladies Lotto L.A. meeting. The funny thing is, living in the Bay I’ve yet to get to an SF meeting BUT have been to both L.A. and NY meetings…yeah, so. The meeting took place at Sugar Salon in Echo Park and drinks where free flowing form 10 Cane Rum. Adriana Rodriguez, co-owner of Sugar Salon, was the hostess and guest speaker for the night…

I had the pleasure of meeting Tasha & Melanie at a Ladies Lotto meeting in New York a few months ago. The two have joined forces like voltron to create The Agytators - a dynamic duo working in photography and film
to challenge stereotypes created by mass media. Here’s a glimpse from their mission statement:
To AGYTATE the masses, you must provoke them into thought. THEY MUST THINK ABOUT THE WORLD AROUND THEM, AND HOW THEY AS INDIVIDUALS COME TO AFFECT THE MASSES BY THEIR ACTIONS. ART IS THE ULTIMATE TOOL OF EXAMINATION & PENETRATION INTO THE FIBRE OF LIFE. AS ARTISTS, IT IS OUR OBLIGATION TO SHED LIGHT ONTO OUR OWN CANVAS OF EXPERIENCE GIVE A TRUE TO LIFE DEPICTION OF THE ISSUES THAT CONFRONT US DAILY.
You can read more on The Agytators at Scheme. And check out their myspace for more info - their website is coming soon! In the mean time, AGITATE!!
