M.I.S.S. Techcessories: Andre for Incase Curated by Arkitip

If you thought the only good things to come out of France were Daft Punk, pasteurization, and French bread…well…think again.  For the fifth installment of their popular Curated by Arkitip project, Apple accessory purveyor Incase and LA art magazine Arkitip tapped famed Parisian graffiti artist Andre for both a MacBook Pro Sleeve and an iPhone 3Gs Slider Case that represent Andre’s hometown of Paris to the fullest.  Featuring Andre’s well known Mr. A stick figure, the set was created to coincide with the launch of Apple’s first retail location in France (what took so long?) at the Carrousel du Louvre, located right next to the world famous art museum in Paris.    André follows in the footsteps of past Curated by Arkitip artists KRINK, Parra, Steven Harrington and HunterGatherer.

And no, you won’t have to visit Gay Paree to get your hands on these.  Both the Sleeve and Slider Case are available online now at goincase.com and arkitip.com.

‘Go East’

A Three Day Exhibition in New York

New York, NY – For a special three-day only exhibition, Los Angeles based contemporary gallery LeBasse Projects expands its horizons to the East Coast. LeBasse Projects’ temporary exhibition offers New York a collection of work by some of the gallery’s best and brightest talent. ‘Go East’ presents the gallery’s penchant for fresh, innovative artists featuring Yoskay Yamamoto, Tessar Lo, Edwin Ushiro, Joao Ruas, Eric Fortune, Mia, and Nate Frizzell.

Though LeBasse Projects calls Culver City’s Art District home base, it aims to conceptually extend its white walls and showcase its core group of artists. Originally born as the monthly art party ‘project:’ in 2005, LeBasse quickly evolved into a gallery after founder, Beau Basse gained a following for his strength in exhibiting new talent. Now the re-branded gallery shows its serious commitment to bringing their talented roster of artists directly to collectors. Besides regular in-house exhibitions, LBP has begun participating in major art fairs and is hosting ‘pop-up’ shows both nationally and internationally.

The ‘Go East’ exhibition marks one of many future endeavors LeBasse Projects is planning to carry the messages of its artists around the globe. The seven artists in this exhibition represent the many new contemporary style that LeBasse Projects has helped define.

In Case You Missed it on M.I.S.S.: Frank Kozik - The Art Of Rebellion Interview

I, personally can never get tired of reading interviews with Frank Kozik, I am a huge fan of his work. Especially the toys. What’s really cool is that I had no idea it was him all those years before producing art work for show posters and album art. Then I became a huge fan when I started collecting vinyl art. Our very own Randi did us proud. Don’t sleep on this!

In case you missed it on M.I.S.S.: Art Herstory: Ellen Auerbach and Grete Stern

It’s common knowledge that two heads are better than one, but when you have two rebellious chicks and their cameras you’ve got quite a combo. Ellen Auerbach and Grete Stern were the Thelma and Louise of the 1930s art world. They were rebels without a cause. Women with a specific mission: to conquer the male dominated art world.

The HunterGatherer laptop sleeve and iPhone 3G slider case are available on Incase’s website for $59.95 and $49.95 respectively.

New Cuteness at Colette

I don’t think I’ve ever gone to the Colette site and not wanted everything. I absolutely love the Tatty Devine heart sunglasses pin and heart lollipop necklace. Perfect for the little Lolita in you. And the ruggedness of the Jeremy Scott Stomp print on the ubiquitous Longchamp Pliage bag make me feel like it would be the most perfect day bag eva. You should definitely check out the site soon to see the Krink-ed out drippy version . . . the site’s been recently customized and if it’s anything like the other stuff at Colette, it won’t be around for very long.
