M.I.S.S. JUNE 09: Vans x Kime Buzzelli

June marks the release of the Kime Buzzelli “Wellesely” Vans.  Available in two color-ways, this sneaker features the artwork of LA based artist Kime Buzzelli. Her world of fantastical ladies and gents are captured by using watered down paints and markers. She creates dream-like scenarios  “inspired by fashion, film and make believe” and has graced the Vans ‘Wellesely’ with her artwork for this June release. These sneakers are strictly for the ladies and come in the turquoise blue featured as M.I.S.S. June and in black. The collection features more than sneakers and can be viewed in our coverage of our visit with Vans at Magic this past February.

Step into the Darkside for Your Summer Sneakers

The Darkside Initiative just received a gang of new sneakers for your warm weather rendezvous, some of which should spark memories of summers long gone. For all you true sneaker heads, the Air Max ’90 is usually a popular pick, and this time it receives an updated ’09 look with shiny patent. If you’re up for a punch of color, go for the purple/white pair, but for those who are not so bold, the silver/black/red will be the go-to pair for everyday life, from running errands to running the track. My personal fave, the Air Max ’95, has been re-released in a colorway popular to Frisco folks, orange and grey.  Thankfully the shop thinks of the ladies, because although the ’95s are men’s sizes, they ordered down to a size 6, equivalent to a women’s 7.5 (sorry for the tiny feet!).  If your old pair from high school has been around the block one too many times, it’s now time to upgrade!

And…these are strictly for the ladies so rock them out to make the fellas jealous! With the ninja-inspired split-toe box and easy-access Velcro elastic straps, you’ll be able to swiftly handle your business and pleasure. Then, art and Dunk lovers alike can feel fly with the latest “skinny” silhouette that feature French textile designer Paule Marrot’s feathers pattern. As you know, we here at M.I.S.S. have been lovers of getting your nails did and sneakers since, um, FOREVER! From our very own M.I.S.S. Mama’s Juicy Nails nail polish set from a couple of years back to our calender shoots featuring our favorite kicks and a matching mani, we’re thinking the word has gotten out. We were so excited to receive the “Kicks” collection from China Glaze. Calling all Sneakerheads! If you are a self proclaimed sneaker aficionado and you are free this Sunday, I highly recommend you hitting up Sneaker Con.  This one day event is premiering in New York City at the Time Square Arts Center on Sunday, March 1, 2009.  Show them some love and welcome them into the Big Apple by attending this rare gathering!  This is a buy/sell/trade sneaker and apparel convention that will give the participants access to thirty different vendors, all of whom will be carrying the sickest and hottest kicks and threads available on the market right now. Confirmed vendors include: Mike 23, who will provide the Stunner shades as well as other rare goods, and Bridge Footwear, bringing with them a rare selection of older Dunks and AF1’s. This event is not to be missed for all the die-hard Sneaker fans out there.  Make sure you dress to impress and rock heat on your feet! And be sure to report back with the goodie-goods that you find! Kendo, the LA based sneaker boutique catering exclusively to female sneaker fiends, is now closing. After opening its doors to the public in 2003, Kendo has consistently  provided the consumer with some of the most exclusive women’s sneakers around from heavyweights such as Nike, Adidas, Etnies, and Vans, to name a few. Beyond being the female sneaker heads’ shopping mecca in LA,  Kendo has also played a crucial role in calling attention to the growing demand for an expanded women’s sneaker market, emphasizing smaller sizing and innovative designs.

The much anticipated and even somewhat hated (I would not be one of those haters) Sergio Rossi x Puma collaboration collection is set to drop this January 26th at Colette. The Italian brand teamed up with Puma to up-date Puma’s iconic “Clyde” sneaker which first came on to the scene in 1973. The collection is the perfect combination of sexy meets sneaker. Satin covered classic “Clyde’s” and a high heeled version that takes us back to the early 90’s, this is a collection not to be missed. Where my chiffon baby doll dress at?!?!?
