Cody Ross Presents Priestess NYC

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

A line that’s recently caught my eye is Priestess NYC, a women’s contemporary line based in NYC.  Designed by Cody Ross, the collection features flirty, feminine pieces that feature beautiful construction details and flattering silhouettes.  The fall 08 line includes adorable jumpsuits, the perfect denim pencil skirt, sexy tops and party frocks perfect for dancing the night away.  Priestess NYC is about finding the sacred in all women and letting it shine by wearing comfortable, beautiful clothing.  Priestess NYC not only produces clothing but also jewelry - the kind that you can pile on, but won’t weigh you down.  Check out more pics of my favorite pieces and a stockists after the jump.

Listen Lady & Gourmet Collection By Lorena Barrezueta

Friday, September 19th, 2008

A couple of months ago we were “introduced” to the work of Lorena Barrezueta. It was love at first site. Taking a material that one might associate with your grandmother’s candy dish or vase, porcelain, and bringing it to a modern and up-dated place, Battezueta, creates jewelry and tableware for the design savvy. Please believe this ain’t your Granny’s fruit bowl! All items are crafted by hand in her Brooklyn studio. Her jewelry collection, “Listen Lady“, features printed bangles and “Mannuel Communication,” all printed with 22K gold or platinum.  I am so into the tromp l’oeil studded bracelets and the watch bangles, lovingly named “Cassie” and “Rollie” . . . I can finally get the 22K Rolex I’ve been wanting! And her “Gourmet Collection” of tablewear made from molds of disposable take-out containers, genius . . . um, I’m no where near getting married but at least I know what to register for my tableware!

See Rollie, Cassie and much more after the jump!

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: 31 Cornlane at Pool Tradeshow

Monday, September 1st, 2008

We have been long time lovers of 31 Corn Lane and it’s always fun to visit the ladies and see what’s new and exciting! Spring 09 is an offering of Little House on the Prairie inspired bags and jewelery. Ditsy floral prints paired with rugged raw denim and rope detail handles are reminiscent of Laura Ingalls Wilde. The fun twist to the collection is the “lil Hood on the Prairie” aspect with two finger rings and big old gold hoop earrings…loving it! See more of the Spring collection and Fall 08 after the jump! Han Chola

han cholo
Han Cholo has some new pieces inspired by livin’ in East LA and I’ve dubbed the line “Han Chola” because I think it’s more fitting. From roses, tattos, nails did, laugh now/cry later, Han Cholo has all the Chola iconography to keep you hooked up. I’m especially loving this collection because my Mama Fall ‘08 collection has the same roots. I also am a Metallica fan so I love the play on the Metallica logo. And, there’s even some egyptomania in there for you with a falcon necklace. Take a look at more of my favorites after the jump. You can purchase online at 80s Purple.
