I got really excited when the CTRL lookbook landed in my inbox. The Spring/Summer 10’ lookbook is fire! Colours and prints and patterns – oh my!

This ‘Fistro Papi, Anthora‘ collection boasts collaborative t-shirts with UK photographer Gavin Watson and illustrator Jesse Auersalo. The rest of the cut and sew collection offers us a feast of stone wash denim, patterned leggings, harem pants, button up shirts and printed singlets.

A nautical theme is evident with an anchor print being featured on a few pieces including a cute little sailor dress that would look so very cute with a pair of tights and boots in this questionable weather.

My favourite number is a little denim overall dress. If I was to get my hands on one I’m pretty sure my milkshake will bring all the boys to the yard – here’s hoping!

The punk-lovin’ British designer Vivienne Westwood teamed up with Lee to create a line of denim as part of her Anglomania collection. The Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Lee collection was reported by WWD to be shipped out to buyers and showrooms this month. The collection is expected to be distributed for more than one season, with prices ranging between $128 to $320, likely in Vivienne Westwood boutiques and select stores.

The iconic Lee brand will be blessed with a Westwood twist. Styles for women will include super skinny jeans and micro-shorts and jeans featuring bondage for men. Rather than your regular Lee blue jeans, expect metallic gold treatment, copper tones, trompe l’oeil lace print, and over-dyes in colors such as electric blue, red, emerald green, camel and white.  All design will take inspiration from Westwood’s own archives

A collaboration such is this is just what the denim game needs. The styles available now get old quick so who better to add some diversification than Vivienne Westwood?

Joe’s Jeans is bringing the heat for Spring/Summer 2010! In addition to the line’s obvious collection drop of new denim, the brand’s also bringing to the table accessories (belts and bags), denim leggings, comfy basics and shirt-dresses. So take a deep breath and grab a latte while M.I.S.S. gives you a preview of the lust-worthy items you’ll surely covet next Spring!

If you’re a Joe’s denim lover, you can now take your obsession to the next level with Joe’s bags – some even constructed out of your beloved denim! As far as denim hand bags, you can opt for the Nash Shopper or Nash Tote, both featuring distressed denim outers and perfect shoulder-length straps for running errands or a night out. Itching for an eye-grabbing pattern? Then the Haden Foldover in (faux) snake is exactly what you need: a demure cut in an attention-demanding pattern, the Haden is one of those fit-everything-you’ll-ever-need bags. Also in the “carry-all” category are the Joseph bags, which you’ll find in two designs: a double-strap version and a foldover design. Both made of lambskin, the Joseph Double Handle comes in black or charcoal, while the Joseph Foldover will be available in charcoal.

If you’re interested in a “night out” accessory, check out the Beck Satchel. Featuring a chain-handle detail and available in fun hues such as blue, the Beck features a flap closure and just enough room to fit your essentials for a night on the town (read: wallet, cell phone, lip gloss, keys). For a similar shape but with a boho vibe, check out the Jude Mini Crossbody, a soft lambskin handbag with a thick stitching detail available in warm grey, taupe and dusty rose. Still adoring the stud trend? Joe’s has something for you too in the Lennon clutch and Lennon double-handle, a large tote that can easily double as an overnight or carry-on bag.

If you’ve been keeping up with your fashion research lately, you’ll know that “jeggings” (jeans + leggings) are primed to take the fashion spotlight. Joe’s is cashing in on this upcoming trend for 2010, yet taking the style to the next level with jean leggings in multiple varieties. Acid-wash versions will be on hand, or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous you can opt for the ankle-zipper green-hued leggings. There’s even a destroyed version of the jean legging (a M.I.S.S. personal fave), available in original denim and black; if you’re a fan of basic black Joe’s has that as well.

While Joe’s may be best known for the brand’s curve-hugging denim, for Summer 2010 the denim company is bringing forth other options, such as relaxed drawstring trousers (which we can totally picture ourselves wearing on the beach), military twill pants (the Airtuck Chelsea, also available in shorts) and the Airtuck Moto Jacket, a military twill piece. We love that Joe’s is foraying into other arenas, specifically because these pieces are so summer-friendly, stylish and yet timeless.

Need a little extra help to secure your hip-slung denim? Then be sure to scoop up one of Joe’s many belts, available for both men and women. With luxurious details such as studs and embedded chains on the men’s side and hammer studs for the ladies, the eyes of passersby will be naturally drawn to these hard-to-miss accessories.

While a good pair of denim is a staple in any woman’s wardrobe, so too is a perfect shirt to wear with her jeans. You didn’t think Joe’s would leaving you hanging in this area, did you? For summer 2010 Joe’s brings to the table multiple shirt options, in the form of plaid button-downs (we love the relax raw-edge), relaxed military tops and and sexy single-pocket. Another M.I.S.S. favorite: the plaid shirt-dress. Easily worn with Joe’s denim or the jean legging!

We’re serious suckers for any comfy basics, and we’re dying to get our hands on the basic pieces Joe’s is previewing for Spring. The Hunter Cardigan (shown above) is a perfect piece for Sunday morning coffee or wearing to the office, while we adore the sheer (and chic) look of the Isabel tunic. The Lindia Dress seems like the perfect warm-weather companion – lightweight and simple, ideal for any lazy summer afternoon!

No matter what your outfit forte is, Joe’s has you covered for Summer 2010 – and as much as we love the holiday season, we’re eager for the next few months to roll around so we can get our hands on each super-stylish piece. As part of the Volcom Give Back series, Volcom has created this really delightful and humorous animated short film (seriously, the song will make you giggle) “Give Jeans A Chance” in a partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless, issuing a call to action to donate your ill-fitting, out of season jeans to a participating local store to help those in need. Check the official “Give Jeans A Chance” page to find participating stores to drop off your jeans.

Though the brand name may come off as obnoxious to some, Rich & Skinny does a hell of a job with putting out great jeans. Ironically, you don’t have to be rich to buy a pair and you don’t have to be skinny to have them fit and look good but they jeans will make you feel that way.

Created by two designers who know the game, Michael Glasser (designer of 7 for All Mankind) and Joie Rucker (founding name of label “Joie“), the dynamic duo bring together their design sensibilities and understanding of the denim industry to produce denim that customers want.

Rich & Skinny got its start late 2006 and  steadily gained momentum after appearing on celebs such as Jessica Alba and Rihanna. The denim styles are varied, giving a little something for everyone, and built for comfort due to the use of unique European denim that blends cotton with Lycra Spandex. For this season, Rich & Skinny’s signature “Sleek” jeans come in a destroyed camel-color finish while the “Super Skinny” get a subtle acid wash treatment in light and dark blues. Also new for the Spring 2010 collection are cute cut-offs with interesting cuff detail.

Buying a well fitting pair of jeans is hard work – I can’t tell you how many tantrums I’ve thrown in shops because of ill fitting, uncomfortable jeans – and let’s be honest, they are a staple in almost all wardrobes, we are all looking for the perfect pair – so why not buy from two designers that are old hands at the denim game?

Created by power-team Michael Glasser (Seven For All Mankind) and Joie Rucker (Joie Jeans), Rich & Skinny is a luxury brand with a decadent spin on well fitting, comfy jeans.

The brand that has graced such legs as Blake Lively, Beyonce, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Alba, Rich and Skinny jeans have released an impressive Fall/Winter look book that is sure to please.

So what can you expect from the new women’s collection? Expect the usual fits; the relaxed fit of the classic ‘Boyfriend’ jean, the popular ‘Sleek’ fit – with a low rise waist and slim leg, the bootleg cut ‘Rich‘ jean, the low-rise waist bell-bottom fit of the ‘Belissima‘ jean and the ‘Super Skinny‘ leg jean (which I’m sure you can expect to be a super skinny fit). With vintage washes and distressed look pieces as part of the new collection, each pair of jeans is finished with a silk waistband lining and the signature ‘R‘ button.

For the men there are three fits – ‘Strong‘, ‘Bold‘ and ‘Chill,‘ each created with a high thread count for optimal comfort and finished with the signature ‘R‘ button, designed to look like vintage cufflinks.

Calvin Klein is known for controversy. From it’s ads featuring a young teenage Brooke Shields, a young Kate Moss, and a scantily clad Eva Mendes, Calvin Klein has a history of being banned and censored. Their newest Calvin Klein jeans ad is sharing the same fate – it’s been banned from TV – even late night cable TV. It seems it’s too steamy for us but you can watch it here.  The ad was shot by Steven Meisel and has a very grainy look to it and you can’t help but feel like a voyeur as you watch it. I’m beginning to think CK makes their ads with the intent of them being banned – I think they may get more hype and notoriety that way.  Whatever it is, it definitely makes an impression.

Married to the Mob just released this teaser photo of an upcoming project they have involving denim jeans.  It looks like they customized the toosh with the initials of the brand “MTTM”.  No word yet on a release but we’ll keep you posted as we get info.
