Younity Presents Fresher!

Saturday night I trekked down to the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center in the Lower East Side to check out the all female Younity eco-art exhibit Fresher! M.I.S.S. co-sponsored the event, so I had to go represent!

The space was transformed into a gallery of art made from raw and reclaimed materials, varying from paintings and photographs to grafitti and street art, to jewelry and accessories, from artists Lady Pink, Martha Cooper, Alice Mizrachi, Lichiban, Inks, SHIRO, Diana McClure, Kerri O’Connell, Krista Franklin, Kelly Denato, Niz, Paulina Quintana Jornet, and Cece Carpio to name a few. Take a gander through the gallery below to see some of the exhibited works and check out the exhibit if you’re in the area. Everything is for sale, and the prices are all right!

INKS TOTES ARE NOW AVAILABLE at Toofly’s Shop!

INKS is a mix of the inspirations and influences of Pamela Mena, a 23 year old up and coming talent, pursuing to shape her own identity into a world full of expression and freedom.

INKS embodies a love of independent punk, rock music, technology, street art, and design. It bears a fusion of Pam’s works in graphic art, alongside Queens, NY to Daytona Beach, FL fashion sensibility. With the hallmark hot pink and gold printed totes, handmade by Mom, INKS expresses a very eclectic, “chill mode” style.

Pam’s motivation and inspiration comes from street artists like Bansky, and her sister Toofly, whom she collaborated with on graffiti walls during the summer. She began making personal stencil works in early 2002 on various found objects at home and on the street. Her stencil work has been featured in books like Stencil Pirates, and online sites like Wooster Collective.

You can cop and rock INKS Totes at Toofly NYC Shop, as well as Hi-Five (NYC), All the Right, (NYC) and the INKS myspace page.

New INKS Spraycan Totes Colors!!

And the ladies keeping it coming!! INKS™ is the graphic work of Pamela Mena. A 22 year old young talent, who’s pursuit to find her own identity has lead her into a world full of expression and freedom. Pamela grew up in in Queens, NY and Daytona Beach Fl. Two very different environments which enabled her to develop a very eclectic, “chill mode” style. She began making stencils in 2002 after being inspired by a famous stencil artist in Europe named Banksy. Street art, punk rock, and moving back to her beloved NY with big sister Toofly, gave Pam the opportunity to mix up her influences into what she now calls INKS™. An independent line of fashion accessories bearing her graphic and design work. INKS™ stencil work has been featured in books like Stencil Pirates, and online sites like Wooster Collective. Her hot pink, and gold printed totes can be found at Hi-Five (NYC), All the Right, (NYC) and her online myspace shop.
