I moved to California from New York because I hated the winter - the short days with below zero temperature. Days and days would pass and I would never want to leave my apartment because it was too cold outside. The only way I would brave the cold was to don a down coat. They’re soft, amazingly warm, and the closest thing to walking around wrapped in a comforter. When it comes to down outerwear, no one does it better than Moncler, a company founded in Grenoble, France. Moncler jackets were crafted and perfected for mountain climbers so you know they will keep you warm walking down city streets.
Down quilted jackets can sometimes make you look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man - not so with Moncler. The French luxury company always produces puffy jackets that are stylish and sleek. I normally go for matte black but Moncler’s shiny black jackets are the exception - I love them! The silhouettes from their Winter collection are timeless and range from styles inspired by everything from motorcycle jackets to pea coats. In addition to the regular collection, Moncler also produces a line called Gamme Rouge, designed by Giambattista Valli. The Gamme Rouge collection is gorgeous, high fashion outerwear. Dramatic sleeves, ruffles, pleats, bows and feathers, the Gamme Rouge collection has it all. I was looking through the collection and it was difficult for me to narrow down just a few favorites . . .I had 30! Soooo, if I were a rich girl, I would want a Moncler for every day of the month. Check out the rest of my favorites after the jump.

I love everything from the house of Van Cleef & Arpels, because each piece of jewelry is like an exquisite work of art. Their newest pieces include “between the finger rings” a luxurious twist on the two-finger rings commonly found at the jewelry stores on Canal Street. It’s quite interesting, two-finger rings have been around forever, yet it took this long for a company to take the concept and fancy it up. The results are beautiful. Van Cleef & Arpels used a floral theme with petals and leaves wrapping around and gently overlaid on your fingers. The rings are diamond encrusted and shine brilliantly as they dazzle in the light. If I were a rich girl, I would definitely get all of these rings. See the other styles after the jump.

This September 10th & 11th, Barneys NY is hosting a Goyard shopping event where customers can meet with representatives to create their very own custom Goyard case. I’m not talking adding your initials here - I mean you can design a case to hold anything you want. I think if I were a rich girl, I would make a few cases. First, I’d make a jewelry case - but one that would fit oversize bamboo hoops, nameplate necklaces and chunky bangle bracelets. Next, I’d make a travel case that would hold a few pairs of kicks, a few pairs of stilettos, several handbags, belts, scarves and jewelry. Lastly, I’d make a camera case that would also have room for an external flash, extra lenses, extra battery and memory card, cords and a notebook with a pen - this of course would be my M.I.S.S. crew case. Visionaire will co-host the kick-off party taking place at the Madision Avenue Goyard boutique during fashion week. No word yet on how appointments can be obtained, if you’re curious, I would contact Barney’s or Goyard. Good luck and happy designing!

Um, need I say more? For today only 200 vintage Chanel bags will be auctioned on Portero.com. The site has no official affiliation with Chanel but collected and authenticated the bags. I could never have enough black double-C bags. If I were a rich girl, these are the pieces I would be bidding on . . .

A girl’s gotta get around, right? If I was a rich girl, I’d have a different car for each day of the week and a bicycle for leisurely rides. What could be better than a Chanel bike? Luxury at its very best. As far as the cars go, I love sporty cars, especially old ones, so I’d have to have a Corvette roadster. The Mercedes G Wagon would be great for long trips or when you’ve got some friends along for the ride. The collection wouldn’t be complete without a convertible - the Alfa Romeo spider - my favorite of all the “topless” cars. These are just a few of my favorites but I could see myself driving each of these - sunglasses on and long scarf blowing in the wind . . .

I’ve always loved Gucci. Maybe it’s the interlocking Gs (my first initial) or the red and green stripes (they call out to the Italian in me), but I always manage to find lots of stuff that I need in my life at Gucci. This summer they have an especially good lineup including the usual accessories but my favorite is the beach towels. I can picture myself jetsetting around to all the beautiful beaches of the world with these. The tote is great because it’s simple and big - perfect for going to the beach with your fancy beach towel. As far as jewelry, I already have bamboo earrings (the Canal Street kind) but the Gucci version are a bit more refined and are something I could see myself wearing everyday of the week. The bamboo bracelet is a nice addition to the bamboo family and no color looks better with gold than black. The stilettos are sexy as ever with the D’orsay silhouette and oversize studs on them. The keychain is a nice basic representation of Gucci motifs and the sunglasses, with their oversize gradient lenses are amazing. Ah sigh, if only . . .
