LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton recently added another champagne brand, Montaudon Champagne, to its portfolio of Wine & Spirits. LVMH already owns 7 other champagne companies including Dom Pérignon, Moët et Chandon, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Krug, Ruinart and Mercier. Just in time for the new year Champagne sales. Seems like the economy is not harming them. Earlier this year sales were still on the rise and this is not the first company LVMH has purchased this year: Other purchases included Hublot, a luxury watch brand and Royal van Lent, a yacht building company.

Today LVMH announced the purchase of Hublot, a swiss watch company, adding to it’s jewelry and watch division which also consists of Zenith, Tag Heuer, Chaumet and Fred brands. With LVMH at it’s back, Hublot can take it’s growth to the next level and is upping the ante on the luxury watch game. Before the purchase I had not heard of Hublot but a quick look on their site and I saw that I could easily be a fan. They have “dressier” models like the ones shown above but they are best known for their Big Bang watch, which they introduced for women earlier this year - two words - black diamonds. Can’t to see what else is in store for Hublot now that LVMH has their back.
