Week 4

Week 4—Sunday, March 22nd-Saturday, March 28th—of our Women Making History series for 2009 has come to an end (um, ok…it ended a few days ago…but you feel where I’m going with this ) and although we’re staring the last day of March, aka Women’s History Month, in the face, we’ve decided to take this daily feature on till the end of the week. Yep. We’re running the series into the first week of April.

As GDK mentioned in her lateset Letter from the Editor, we have a lot in store for you lovely readers, including some big changes in the coming weeks and due to an amazing response on the series, we will be bringing you many more Women Making History features on inspiring ladies throughout the year!

Women Making History: Samia Grand Pierre of HighSnobette

Female Sneaker Fiend Presents: “Michelle’s Chic Sneaks”

Female Sneaker Fiend noticed that Michelle Obama was quite the fashion maven and asked some industry ladies what kind of sneakers they thought Michelle Obama would wear in various situations.  “Experts” included female sneaker fiends Claw Money, Mama of Mama Clothing/M.I.S.S., Samia Grand-Pierre from Highsnobette.com, Lori Lobenstine, Precious Colon and Janine Simon.  Check out the full article here to see what our First Lady would wear while working out, on a date, to run errands, and to spend time with the family.

On my most recent trip to NYC I managed to get out and about and hit up the FILA launch party for their “Melrose” sneaker. This MissBehave sponsored event had the people lined up down the block…in the rain. Big thanks to Christine from MissBehave, good looking out lady! Radio Rose held things down and provided a most excellent soundtrack for the night. All the ladies where in the house this night…ATWG, Female Sneakerfiend, Highsnobette, Bubblegum Pony and Erin from MadeMe. And of course Nina Sky. These ladies do the damn thing! More beautiful in person they held the crowd at attention as they preformed…they even got the people to “put your hands up in the air”. Um, I was busy videoing, so I opted to not “put my hands up” but enjoyed the evening nonetheless.
