For those of you who love the finer things in life, but can’t quite afford them… you’re in luck!
Upper Echelon Shoes, the blossoming kicks company we produced a calendar with back in May, is already a hit with celebs such as Drew Barrymore, Fergie and Gwen Stefani, who favor the brand’s combination of classic kick with a high-end aesthetic. Combining the average sneaker with18-karat chains designed by Gabriel Urist ( we brought you an exclusive look at the designs when we visited the UES showroom not too long ago) was what apparently caught Steve Madden’s eyes. The footwear tycoon will be teaming up with designers Seth Campbell and Nicholas Cohen to expand the Upper Echelon Shoe line and give it a greater range of availability–and hopefully knock a few dollars off that price tag!
The cream of the crop, the beautiful people, the créme de la créme, the haute monde, the high society, the elite class, the in crowd, the high life, the upper crest…the upper echelon. No matter how you say it, Upper Echelon Shoes strives to be all that and then some. And might we say, they are doing it very, very well. Not your average sneaker, UES has added a new level to the sneaker game – they’ve combined kicks and jewelry to give us “shoellery” with 18 carat gold plated chains designed by Gabriel Urist. Craftsmanship and quality, style and grace, this footwear for the grown and sexy gets a manicure to match. Selvage denim dipped nails, encrusted with gold studs, and polish from the Mlle. Coco Chanel, once again we bring your kicks to your tips.
Upper Echelon Shoes was founded by Seth Campbell and Nicholas Cohen
Upper Echelon Shoes (”UES”) debuted its first collection last Fall and they’ve been breaking new ground in the footwear industry ever since. Founded by childhood friends Seth Campbell and Nicholas Cohen, the boys got together to make “shoellery” – a combination of shoes and jewelry like you’ve never seen!
Seth and Nick watched the rise of the retro sneaker trend and saw some styles selling for well over $500. That inspired to make shoes that were actually worth that much because of the materials and craftsmanship – not just because of hype. They started out with a men’s model that Diddy himself wore and the style sold out immediately. Next, they turned their eyes to the ladies and redeveloped silhouettes for women.
