Sweatheart member and Philadelphia MC MISS Amanda Blank is a fabulous woman who often refers to herself as a tranny and isn’t afraid to talk dirty. Now that she has taken the time out to work on her solo career after being signed to label Downtown Records (Kid Sister, Mos Def, and Santigold) her music is making its way into the spotlight. And FYI, listen to her tracks with caution because these songs have the potential to cause serious eargasm.

Amanda’s lyrical content and gritty appeal illustrates her talent to be sexually charged and full of energy. She sets her explicit tone with the release of her first single “Might Like You Better.” Her debut album I Love You set to be out this summer already has artists like Ghostface Killah, M.I.A., Flosstradamus, and Santigold giving Amanda the A-OKAY so you know it’s gonna be hot!! Amanda Blank has become recognized for her projects with Aaron LaCrate, Spank Rock, Lykke Li,  Plastic Little and artists Switch, Xxxchange, and Diplo are already getting their hands in the producing for MISS Blank’s summer release.

Today we honor Linda Smyth; the amazingly-creative mind behind the accessory lines, Fleathers and The Rabidfox and the Philly boutique Topstitch, each one cementing her place in women’s history.

Linda has been creating jewelry for 10 years now. It all started with self-adornment and the love of body art that over the years transformed into a more wearable, whimsical way of life.

Fleathers was developed 6 years ago. Originally inspired by birds, flowers and the aquatic world, these days color combinations explode from day to day experiences. Leather has been taken to the next level here with the variety of shapes and colors within this jewelry form.

One of our favorite jewelry designers, Linda Smyth of Fleathers, got together with Magick Outlaw to produce her signature leather earrings. The leather features great patterned prints that the Magick Outlaw boys do so well. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite I want them all!  I am a huge fan of earrings. My motto is “the bigger the better”. And my most favorite is long and dangling or huge and hoop like. Well Fleathers by Linda Smyth gives me all that I need and in leather. Leather “feathers” that dangle and huge leather hoops, heart shaped too…I think I’m in love!
