The most famous set of ears is getting a designer makeover.  Teaming up for the celebration of Mickey’s Magical Party- yes ladies and gentleman, Disney’s MICKEY MOUSE - are designers Luella, Giles Deacon, and House of Holland (just to name a few).  Other celebrities on the list of enchanted activities include Daisy Lowe, Estelle, Geri Halliwell, and John Terry.  What do all these names have in common?  They are all creators of customized mickey ears. These newly designed ears are a part of Disneyland Resort Paris’s year long magical party that runs from April 4, 2009 to March 7, 2010. You can check out the designer ears throughout May, 2009, at London based boutique START .

If you can’t make it across the globe to get a glimpse at the Mickey ears, don’t worry!  From May 4 -28, 2009, the custom designer ears will be placed on an online charity auction Buy Once Get Twice. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Disney’s Appeal for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. It does’t get much better than a year long party in the happiest place in the world that can make a positive difference in someone’s life!

Seems like making short films or videos is the new blogging. The newest video-based website we’ve come across is VIMBY - Video In My Backyard - “a video content company devoted to capturing young lifestyle and culture all over the nation.” They have videos covering music, fashion, cars, travel, action sports and night life. We checked it out and there’s definitely some good content - check out some of our favorites below.

I remember hearing Estelle a few years back on some UK Grime compilations and really liked her flow. Because I knew her as a grimey rapper I was really surprised to hear her new sound and see her new look. Her new album, Shine, released this past Tuesday and features Estelle doing a bit more singing than she did on her debut album. She also worked with some interesting people on her new album including Kanye West, John Legend, Cee-Lo and Kardinal Offishall, Mark Ronson, Swizz Beatz, Wyclef Jean, and will.i.am. The December issue of Rolling Stone Magazine highlights 3 female musicians in their “Ten Artists to Watch” article that you definitely need to know about.The first artist featured is a very talented lady that people have been buzzing about for while now, Santogold. I introuduced M.I.S.S. Crew readers to Brooklyn’s Santogold earlier this year on the blog, and she has continued to make noise since performing all over the US and abroad.The two other birdies featured are in the same league as Lilly Allen and Amy Winehouse.
