Built by Wendy Spring 2010: Linen Pleat Dress and Layer Shirt
Built by Wendy has a new Spring collection out for 2010 and it’s the usual beloved Built by Wendy styles but inspired by France and art. This artist collection embodies the comfort and style of dress a girl might take on when strolling about town in search for inspiration to working in her studio.

Built by Wendy Spring 2010: Swim Stripe Dress and Kahlo Tank Dress
The above image is just a taste of the different motifs used in the collection. Aside from stripes and polka dots, there are prints inspired by blue and white China sets, floral print inspired by Monet, and colors and shapes inspired by Gauguin and Kahlo.

Built by Wendy Spring 2010: Dress, Crop top, track pant, and skirt
Spring 2010 is a very versatile collection with it’s wide range of clothing. There are dresses in various lengths, skirts and shorts, slacks and track pants, blouse tops, button-up shirts, basic knits and some outerwear. It’s a good collection for transitioning from fall to spring, and because of it’s use of classic colors and design, it could work with any season.
You can go to the Built By Wendy Online shop to view/shop the collection in full.

- Dusen Dusen Spring 2010 Dresses
Who said hard work doesn’t pay off? The first store order of Brooklyn based, Ellen Van Dusen’s collection, with her aptly named label ‘Dusen Dusen’, was sold out within one week. And did I mention, the whole collection being all hand sewn? Damn, our girl had some stamina and patience, and aren’t we glad!
With the epic success of previous collections by Dusen, she has come through with more fire for her latest spring 2010 collection. Showcased at the Pool Tradeshow, the wait was finally over and Dusen Dusen’s spring 2010 collection was unveiled. And we are not disappointed! We are glad to see Ellen Van Dusen stick by her signature style of vintage inspired fabrics and sick, bold prints for her latest offerings. Dusen has gone so far as to keeping within the lines of her usual all-body-type flattering shapes and cuts of the awesome dresses – all clinched in at the waist with a tiny ‘poof’ of the skirt to further emphasis a small waist line, which all the ladies love their dresses to do no doubt. Dusen’s skilled past in refitting vintage dresses whilst in high school has inspired the dresses in her Dusen Dusen collections to be reminiscent of renewed vintage dresses, that we see in every other vintage store the world over. However, having the Dusen Dusen label, it has given her the opportunity to design refreshing new crazy, tribal graphic prints that we have all fallen in love with.

Dusen Dusen
The latest collection shows a real growth within the brand, with the prints being just as amazing as before, but on more of a subtle level, with the prints and color pallet of black, white, turquoise and hints of the bleched denim complimenting and coinciding with one another perfectly.

The addition of the late 80s/early 90s inspired crop tops to the Spring 2010 collection has upped the ante for this fresh brand. This simple, everyday basic with the Dusen Dusen twist is what we love about these crop tops! Teamed with a pair of skinnies or skirt, and we all know we are good to go, effortless fashion – we do adore. The in-trend exposed, contrasting coloured zip is another feature Ellen Van Dusen has incorporated onto the crop tops, which were previously seen in earlier collections of the label’s dresses , making the collection consistent through and through.

Oh, and the backpacks, too cool for school for real! School is just an excuse for us to wear backpacks, especially ones that are as hip as the selection in Dusen Dusen spring ’10 collection. Personal favourite? The beloved bleached denim one of course!

Dusen Dusen Spring 2010 Back Packs
Bold prints, body hugging, exposed zips, crop tops? – Dusen Dusen Spring 2010, you are screaming my name!
The colors may not be so much BAM! in your face like in previous collections, but the maturity of the designs, prints, along with the hot-ass crop tops and body hugging skirts, still leaves an unforgettable impression on us all.
Dusen Dusen goods are availble at Duo NYC.

Design duo Anzevino & Florence (AZFN) have a new line of casual clothing called “Laugh Cry Repeat” that’s no fuss and all about comfort. Imagine Pierre Cardin and Rick Owens got together to make clothes a woman can run errands in without having to don unsightly sweats or a track suit of any sort and you would get the Fall 2009 collection of Laugh Cry Repeat.
The pieces are mostly made of 100% cotton with the occasional silk, sateen, viscose or modal french terry blend. All of which make for comfortable, breathable, easy to maintain clothing. The collection ranges from draped tops, tanks and dresses with cut-outs or ruffles, versatile coats and jackets, and fun screen printed tees with original art from Anzevino & Florence themselves.

Upside Down Coat - 100% cotton / $74
The collection features great design but the big bonus is the price tag. The most expensive item is a $74 jacket that can be worn upside down (and you wouldn’t look like a crazy person that can’t dress). Check out the gallery to view the entire collection.

If you’re born and bred in America, you probably know that European style is embraced in almost every form… from BMW cars, Ikea furniture, and H&M clothes. So, it would be ironic if you’re residing in America and find yourself coveting clothes from the UK-based brand Motel, which was born from an inspiring trip to the west coast thrift shops of the U.S. Motel is a label that churns out killer clothes sold at moderate prices. Their mission is to re-create that feeling of rummaging through racks of second hand clothes and scoring a sweet vintage piece that fits just right, except you won’t have to rummage and worry about second hand funk because everything is cute and new!

Selina and Pammy dresses
Motel’s most notable pieces are their dresses: cinched at the waist, with a skirt that flares out or fits to your thighs and hips, and comes in a variety of fun prints that Kelly Kapowski would find worthy for strutting the halls of Bayside High. Even Lily Allen is a fan of the simple yet spunky Zoe dress by Motel. The spunk isn’t limited to the dresses of course. Motel has tons of tops and bottoms that have a vintage look. Go to MotelRocks.com to check out the clothes or if you live in or around Bristol, UK swing by the shop at 24 Park Street.

Obey Summer 09 Collection
Obey’s summer ’09 ladies line has crash landed on to their website, with a look that screams contemporary chic rather than just pretty tees and hoodies. Obey are best known for stepping over the ‘safe’ boundaries with their distinctive graphic designs that often hold political views, and messages to raise awareness for specific movements (Obama HOPE and PROGRESS print anyone?) Obey are highly commended for these prints and tees, but you know us ladies also appreciate the softer touch that are seen with the summer drop of city basics and streetwear staples!
Obey’s spring 2009 drop left a great impression on us with their collection of stunning jewellery and accessories (ahem…Chanel-Esq. “Working Girl” Laptop bag), making us yearn for more. Now that their summer collection, phase two of SS09, has launched on the Obey Web Store, the wait is over.
Obey has come through with their perfect-for-the-beach/city-strolling dresses in the form of the “Summer Sunrise” and also “Summer Eyes” dresses – just throw it over the bikini yo! Come twilight, replace the ‘summer in the city’ look and reach for the “Touch & Go” 100% silk charmeuse racer-back cami, with the cute chain heart charm. The rompers are still present and doing its thang with Obey’s summer drop, just as it did with the spring loot, now welcoming the “Phasers” romper to the familio. And, Obey wouldn’t be Obey without some graphic print t-shirts. The lightweight tri-blend “Party with the Posse” tee will most definitely bring the heat for summertime.

Betsey Johnson has updated her site with more cuteness. Her newest collection of bags explore the nautical theme – with stripes, anchors and studs galore and the old-school aviation theme (think vintage Pan Am bags) all with the pizzazz and glitz that make Betsey Johnson so unique. She’s also added more dresses to her collection. I always manage to find tons of dresses that I want to wear – whether for work, play or partying. BJ does a great job of making dresses that you can find for any occasion. Check for updated looks on her site.

Movie enthusiasts you’re in luck: the actual dress Drew Barrymore’s character “Josey Grossie? wore in Never Been Kissed can now be found at Shopbop for the very small sum of $341. However, it’s been slightly modified for the woman who not only likes to look tacky for Halloween, but also wants to rock the pink polyester year round.
OK, we’re just kidding. The ill-informed dress is actually made by Paul&Joe, but it is very reminiscent to the 80s inspired creation in one of our all-time favorite movies. It’s not that dress screams “I’m so heinous I should be given away for free,? but Paul&Joe is the epitome of fun and quirky clothes – so, to see them miss the mark like this is just, well…odd.
The proportions on the sleeves are so bizarre that we can only imagine a football player look cool in it – plus, a Pussycat Doll and maybe a Cheetah Girl?!
After last weeks Project Runway, we’ve been waxing a bit poetic about prom in general and when we stumbled upon this little number we immediately thought of the scene in Never Been Kissed when Drew Barrymore walks into the cafeteria wearing that awful pink metallic thing and everybody starts laughing at her. Since most of us are out of high school, we imagine the fashionista who buys this dress will only be heckled in the minds of the people she offends with her purchase.
So, we must ask:
Is the Paul&Joe dress Chic or Troubled? And if you actually find it appealing, what kind of medication are you on?
Discuss.

Decisions, decisions. I love the black and white combo – so classic and clean. Then, of course, there’s the power of the all black or all white ensemble. Feeling a little in-between? French brand A.P.C , well known for its denim, has the answer for the girls who can’t make up their mind. This gradient tye-dye dress is cute – total good girl on top in the demure white and bad girl on the bottom with the black skirt. And, you can layer it and transition from winter to spring. Cop it here .
