M.I.S.S.’s very own DJ Zita was recently interviewed on SF Station and you can check out the interview here. And, save the date for Zita’s fundraiser on Friday, 11.28.08. DJ Zita and DMadness were recently burglarized and and the vandals stole ALL of their DJ equipment, laptop, jewelry, and many other personal belongings. All proceeds from the door & the silent auction this night will go to helping them back on their feet. Bay Area all-stars VINROC, PLATURN, MR. E, SHREDONE, DJ Zita, plus Knowmadic residents DMADNESS & MPENZI will be takin’ it back with old school hip hop and R&B.  They also have some dope items in the Silent Auction… a framed Shephard Fairey Obama HOPE poster, 2 Mixerfriendly canvases, an exclusive pair of Mama Adidas w/ matching black velvet New Era hat, an autographed copy of Jeff Chang’s book, an autographed copy of Bryant Terry’s book Grub, paintings, mix CD packs and more! I had the honor and pleasure of celebrating Maritez & David’s wedding this past Saturday in Oakland. I love weddings because it’s an excuse for me to dress like a girl for a change. Yes, I put away the kicks and break out the heels - the very high heels and go all out with a dress and everything! Bay Area Sistah Sound (B.A.S.S.) is a collective of my favorite Bay Area lady DJs: DJ Zita, Pam the Funkstress and DJ Neta. These ladies are holding down the 1s and 2s every first Saturday at Milk in San Francisco at a party they host called Everlasting Bass.
