JUNE 30th to JULY 6th!

For all of you Los Angeles residents (and visiting tourists), if you happen to be cruising Melrose Avenue anytime soon, keep an eye out for streetwear brand DimePiece’s window installation at the Joyrich boutique. (It’s located at 7700 Melrose Ave., FYI.) And don’t expect something completely ordinary, either. This must-see display features an eye-catching DimePiece banner, complete with chrome-hued, hairless Barbie dolls in all sorts of funky positions. Shocked? You shouldn’t be. ‘Cause you weren’t really expecting anything less from a brand as bold as DimePiece, were you?

Make time in your day for a pit stop at Joyrich to browse DimePiece’s Summer ‘09 Plastic City collection… We promise you won’t be disappointed. Plastic City includes its fair share of lust-worthy tunics, coupled with scoop-neck tees that are a summer wardrobe necessity - and perfect partner for a pair of DimePiece leggings. For more information about Joyrich, check the store’s official site, and make sure you keep tabs on what’s happening at the boutique via the Joyrich blog!

Having your manicure game on lock is almost as important as your outfit. The ladies on the scene at SLATE at Magic had the nails going on! From the above fav spotted at the Mishka booth to Mama keeping it classy with a gray and black french mani. The ladies for the most part kept the nail lengths on the shorter side but made up for the length in design!

As soon as I saw the photos for DimePiece’s Spring 09 preview I’m pretty sure I heard my maxed-out credit card crying from inside my handbag.
Although they’ve been doing the cut and sew thing for a minute now, the launch of their Specialty Collection sees DimePiece take it to the next level. Never fear – they’ll still be bringing out the killer tees, tanks, leggings and sweatshirts that we love them for, but with this new collection comes a range of higher end, limited run garments.
“Stuff you’d wear to things like sushi dinners, Friday night club escapades, to have on hand when your boyfriend says ‘I have a surprise, look hot tonight’, or just when you want to get a rise out of your girlfriends and be the ‘O-M-G, where did you get that?’ chick . . . ”
Not just for the ladies that want to cause a bit of a scandal, these pieces look perfect for those of us that want to dress up without looking too girly. Since it’s only a preview, for now all we’re allowed to see is the miniskirt and vest. The Zig Zag miniskirt is highwaisted, a snug fit and comes in a black and charcoal twill with front zipper. The second piece of hotness is the Napoleon vest with tails and metal stud buttons.

If this is just a preview, I should probably cut up my credit card before the rest of the line drops. The collection will be available online and in stores on Monday, March 16, but for now see the rest of the preview pics after the jump.

The ladies of DimePiece have launched their summer collection and they’ve really stepped their game up. The new silhouettes and fabrications look comfy and styly all at once and look like the type of things that layer and coordinate with a multitude of pieces. I also really like the leggings - they’re a cute twist on the original. Here’s how the DimePiece ladies describe their line:
We are moving toward a more progressive and contemporary look for the urban female this season, and so we used a few different types of fabrics in our special cut and sew pieces. The new Spring/Summer 08 collection has been deeply influenced by our laid back Los Angeles lifestyle. We captured the raw social standards of the Hollywood culture and the strong perspective of the everyday woman.

The lookbook is beautiful and you can view it here. Well done ladies! You can purchase online on the DimePiece site or on Cultist. More pics after the jump.
