For Spring 09, FRUITION has teamed up with Cassette Playa to bring the people an offering of original vintage t-shirts printed with Cassette Playa’s vibrant future graphics. The vintage tees are mix of hieroglyphic and tribal surf prints…think Maui and Sons and Gecko brands. Only fifty pieces are available for the ladies and gents exclusively through FRUITION. This is the first collection from Cassette Playa with an offering for the ladies! Does the future hold more for the ldaies form Cassette Playa? You’ll just have to wait and see
Since Carrie Mundane’s SS08 runway show “Future Primative” for her lifestyle brand, Cassette Playa, we’ve been wondering: “When, When, When?!?!?” When will those Nike Blazers be available for the mass market or at least those few that have the “right” connects or in this case have access to a Tier 0 Nike account. The collaboration between Cassette Playa and Nike has been hot in the streets and tomorrow, Dec. 13th the UK release will be happening at the CP x Nike Pop Up Shop at Nike 1948 Space, which will include new limited edition and archive pieces from Cassette Playa.

Hypercolor was a brand that came out in the 80s that made clothes that changed color with temperature change and it’s one of those brands that screams 1980s. I still have mine at home somewhere though I’m not sure if it still works. If you weren’t around in the 80s, or if you were but don’t still have your Hypercolor, no worries, there are a few brands that are adding hyper to their color. Anzevino & Florence have been using color change fabric for some time, as well as Cassette Playa. The newest brand to hop on the color change wagon is unsurprisingly, t-shirt giant American Apparel. The “thermochromatic” tees retail for $34 and are available online here.
