Having to write this post on très chic swimwear brand BECCA has me longing for Spring Break. And as much as longing is one of my least favorite feelings in the world, it’s nice to know there’s a warm season to look forward to and BECCA bikini tops and bottoms to wear when the time comes.
During this months ASR Tradeshow (in San Diego), BECCA put out the 2010 collection “Let The Sun In.” BECCA by Rebecca Virtue is a luxury swimwear brand that has made a name for itself since it’s inception in 2003. Rebecca’s knack for complimenting the female form through swimwear is evident through the collection, and with her pieces featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition year by year, there’s no contesting it.

The 2010 collection “Let the Sun In” draws inspiration from relaxation, enjoyment and self-expression. BECCA seeks to provide swimwear that can match any woman’s personality and moods with a “fresh, vibrant color palette.” The Color Code style allows mixing and matching of individual tops and bottoms with BECCA’s other ranges like Enchantment, Unleashed, and Tango. The collection includes bold animal print in cool colors, vivid hues in a stained glass print, crocheting, detailed embroidery, soft scallops and fringe.
BECCA can be bought at the BECCA Online Shop or upscale department stores such as Nordstrom’s and Bloomingdale’s.

We’re more than excited to bring you this one! The swimwear these ladies have designed will possibly make you look at your old swimsuit like it’s moldy bread. Yeah, it’s that awesome!
Not familiar with the brand? Allow us to break it down for you:
House of Jackie Brown is swimwear for the sexy and self-confident fashionista. Conceived by Jaclyn York and Emily Brown, both of New York City, the company was founded out of a flare for the funky-fabulous. Driven by a desire to create bikinis that accentuate and accommodate many shapes and sizes, their fresh styles & fly additions to each suit separate them from the rest. These urban-chic creations are redefining the standards for fun vs. functional; bringing style to the sun and sand.
Take a look at the video shoot for their first collection below:
Now that you know a little more about the brand let’s get to know the ladies behind the brand, starting with the M.I.S.S. survey!
M.I.S.S.: What woman, besides your mom or grandmother, do you find inspirational?
To name a few Madonna, Patricia Field, Jem and the Holograms, Pam Grier, Kelis, Barbarella, Peaches and of course Barbie.
M.I.S.S.: How did you get your start?
We decided on a whim to head south for the winter, moving to Miami. Our idea of fly sexy swimwear was hardly anywhere to be found. We were inspired by the sun, sand, and sea to start our own company and we’ve been making it happen ever since.
M.I.S.S.: What’s your favorite piece of fashion that you’ve created?
Our newest collection: Electric Couture!
M.I.S.S.: Who do you want to work with in the future and/or dress?
We would love to dress at the Hollywood starlets.
M.I.S.S.: What part of your work process is the most challenging and what do you dislike the most?
The most challenging part is coming up with capital for production. We both work other jobs to support HOJB. Its tough to start without financial backing but its all worth it. The best part of it is watching our designs come to life. The whole design process from making patterns to choosing fabrics and finishings we love. Fashion shoots and shows are always fun.
There is also nothing better then seeing your product in stores or being worn by someone on the beach.
M.I.S.S.: Thanks so much ladies! Any last words before we show off the collection?
We also want to plug our fashion show July 18th for Mercedes-Benz swim fashion week @ the Setai hotel. Also, we are about to debut a 15 piece resort wear collection next month!
Actually, before we get into the collection, let’s take a quick dance break, k?
Stand up.
Pop that booty out.
Ya’ll ready?
Press PLAY!
There’s no stoppin’ the heat! What you’re about to see is going to make you SWEAT! GO!
High-voltage colors, wildly outrageous patterns, and a charge of flashy textures are what House of Jackie Brown’s SS ‘10 line—Electric Couture—bodaciously channels from the 1980s. In a time where style defined substance, and “Material Girl”s were all “Pretty in Pink”, swimwear rocked some of the hottest cuts the industry has seen. For those women lucky enough to have experienced this age of free-spirited fashion expression, the vintage fabrics will take you right back to that rad time when neon paint-splatters against black & white was funky-fresh and mesh material totally meant sexy. But not to worry younger generations: the soft spandex, iridescent material, and rouged designs incorporate a modern twist to these re-vamped, innovative pieces; allowing girls of all ages to get a taste of bold bathing suit culture. Owning classic, culturally iconic names synonymous with the 80s, like “Karma Chameleon” and “Dynasty,” the pieces capture the time and place in which Jaclyn York (born ‘83) and Emily Brown (’81) spent their childhood days.

Agent Provacateur Swimwear 2009: Allie
Agent Provocateur is a brand that definitelyknows the meaning of sexy and seductive. So much so, the brand may as well be filed under ‘sexy’ and ‘seductive’ in the definitions of a dictionary! Famous for their saucy lingerie which is designed to release one’s innermost desires, Agent Provocateur really does embody the risqué lifestyle. They have also translated this through their new range of swimwear, letting us know that the seductive sirens do not just reside in the bedrooms. Agent Provocateur has never failed to bring out the sexy confidence in all the ladies, and they have done it again with their new swimwear collection. Designed with deep décolletage and cut-away sides, these swimwear pieces are bound to make you stand out on any beach across the globe. Whatever your preference, Agent Provocateur has designed something for everyone: from the front cross-strap, monochrome two-piece, to the Über sexy mesh panelled one piece and through to the 60s inspired piece with oversized buttons.

Seventh Wonderland is a new luxury swim wear line based in Australia. Designed by couple Bonnie Coumbe and Carlos Aviles, the two creat high-end swim suits that are so beautiful, you can incorparate them into your non-swimming ensembles. Carlos states: “Girls today need options, so we’re designing fashion-savvy swimsuits that can be worn to the beach, music festivals or on a balmy night in your favorite pair of jeans.”
Seventh Wonderland uses luxurious fabrics, including silk, to craft these very special pieces. The details are endless with beading here, ruffles there, and the silhouettes are unique but beautiful (not “unique” in a freakish way or for the sake of it). Some of the details seemed very Art Deco to me, especially the diamond beaded insets on the bikini tops. The cuts are feminine and flattering: They’re not too bare on the booty, but show enough so that you can “shake what ya’ mama gave ya.” I also have to add that the Look Book is brilliantly shot. The models have a Robert Palmer girl look to them with slicked back hair and dramatic make-up and they were shot in front of mirrors so that you could get the front and back view in one frame. Check out more pictures after the jump.
Valley is hosting a House of Jackie Brown Bikini Trunk Show on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. House of Jackie Brown is a new line of swimwear that released earlier this year by Jaclyn York and Emily Brown. They decided to launch a line of bikinis that accentuated women’s assets and brought to life their love of fashion, beauty and the beach. Their Summer 2008 Collection is called “Caliente” and is inspired by the heat, color, vibrance and fire of Miami. They shot the catalog in the streets because these ladies are city girls at heart. The bikinis are very cute and flattering and have super nice details including ruffles, kiwi scents and linings that pop! This trunk show is a great chance to get a bikini that will set you apart from the rest. Details and pictures of the “Caliente” bikinis after the jump . . .
