Even the overcast, chilly temps couldn’t dampen the spirits of the fashionable crowd at the first installment of Claire de Lune (meaning, “Light of the Moon” in Français) held atop the gorgeous Beverly Hills Thompson. Hosted by Paula Miranda and in collaboration with Belvedere Vodka, the cocktail affair debuted Belvy’s newest flavor, Black Raspberry, with a sumptuous multi-course sushi meal complete with corresponding mixed drinks that incorporated ingredients like ginger, rosemary and various flavors of tea. One word: refreshing. On the list of the few coveted dinner guests was one of our favorite MISSes, Lanie Alabanza-Barcena, founder of Hellz Bellz, who took it easy the rest of the night after noshing and testing the new concoctions.
The attire called for a “Splash of Red”, which everyone, except myself, adhered to – but little were they aware of my post-alcohol sexy flush! Next time, however, I’ll stick to the code! With a poolside view and wicker Cabanas adjacent, it was enough to keep the temperature high, even if it was in our own minds. Spotted was Dennis Quaid and even Lily Allen reportedly stopped by, amongst a diverse crowd that included some of L.A.’s most glamorous tastemakers. When DJ Rashida finally showed up to spin, the sexy mood was set, thanks to her flawless mix of downtempo and soulful Hip Hop.
