So, remember back in June, Liz did a Ears To The Street trend post about neoprene surf gear? It seems like she was on to something….I journeyed down to Soho to check out the new Cynthia Rowley collection for Roxy on Thursday night, and was was pleasantly surprised by the soft versitility of neoprene brought forth by this celebrated designer’s hand. As a fan of the Montauk surf, designer Cynthia Rowley created a line of effortless beachwear that  manages to look both functional and relaxing. With a no fuss, throw it in a bag adventurous style this collection consisting of sportswear, swim, shoes, and accessories, can be worn waterside, in the surf or combined with your existing wardrobe to create a street look all your own.

This April release is the first collection for a multi-year collaboration between Rowley and Roxy, and will be available in Cynthia Rowley and Roxy stores, as well as Barneys, and colette.

Highlights of the 20 piece collection are the “Kaleidoscope” colorful tank,  full body pieces – like the “Tan Lines” and “Bond” swim suits, “Green Room” and “Carve” neoprene body suit and dress, as well as the  “Gone Sailing” neoprene headband, and my favorite favorite favorite – the “Pier”  diamond kaleidoscope colored wedge sandals  (did I mention they’re my favorite?) I also wouldn’t kick the “Lowtide” booties out of my closet…no I would not.

I’m sure anybody who spends time in a beach town knows there’s nothing better than the articles of clothing you can wear down on the beach, but also look pretty dope when you’ve trekked back to the main street and you’re eating ice cream or wanna play a game of mini golf, or even do a little window shopping. You keep those close to the washing machine. They’re irreplaceable.

Prices for the collection start at $34 and $35 for the shark tooth necklace and the headband, hover around $125 to $225 for the beach wear, and go from $69 to $210 for the footwear.

With their love of vintage inspired, surf-to-streetwear pieces, Aviator Nation showcases another collection ready for SS10. The retro sporty look is still in full effect with Aviator Nation’s latest offerings, giving us more of that cool, care free 70s Californian beach inspired look we have known to love from this brand.

Back this season is the classic “Aviator Nation Hoodie.” This was the first hoodie Aviator Nation creator Paige Mycoskie ever made, each of which was hand sewn nonetheless. This particular hoodie has been apart of Aviator Nation since the beginning and continues in the journey as the brand grows, with colour variations each season. SS10 sees the classic red/blue and green/mustard colour combinations being used. This basic super soft cotton hoodie is a staple item within Aviator Nation brand and, no doubt, set to be a staple item in our wardrobe for SS10.

Introducing corduroy shorts is a great move to push the brand further next season. Along with their selection of vintage inspired cut-off denim shorts, which have been seen all over fashionista’s legs this past summer, Aviator Nation brings us more choices to pair with our favourite tees. The Vintage Thick wale Cords come in three different cuts, with six colour variations for each style. With so many colour options and the three styles (depending on how much leg we brave to show!), every Aviator Nation lover will be catered for.
