This September 10th & 11th, Barneys NY is hosting a Goyard shopping event where customers can meet with representatives to create their very own custom Goyard case. I’m not talking adding your initials here - I mean you can design a case to hold anything you want. I think if I were a rich girl, I would make a few cases. First, I’d make a jewelry case - but one that would fit oversize bamboo hoops, nameplate necklaces and chunky bangle bracelets. Next, I’d make a travel case that would hold a few pairs of kicks, a few pairs of stilettos, several handbags, belts, scarves and jewelry. Lastly, I’d make a camera case that would also have room for an external flash, extra lenses, extra battery and memory card, cords and a notebook with a pen - this of course would be my M.I.S.S. crew case. Visionaire will co-host the kick-off party taking place at the Madision Avenue Goyard boutique during fashion week. Christian Louboutin will be making stops at Barneys NY in NYC and Los Angeles the first week of May. He’ll be on the fourth floor of the Madison Avenue flagship on the May 1 and in the Beverly Hills store on May 7. For the event, Monsieur Louboutin sent out sketches as invitations. When Simon Doonan, creative director of Barneys, saw the invites, he decided to blow them up. Beginning today, you can see the blown up sketches in the windows at the Barneys on Mandison Avenue and in Beverly Hills. You should definitely check it out. Who wouldn’t want to meet the man behind the red sole?
