Unless you have children or work in a field where you have to tend to their needs on a daily basis, say, a daycare, then it’s pretty hard to justify your collection of limited-edition dolls Bearbricks to any otherwise rational adult.
Luckily, though, no one needs an excuse to buy a cool handbag paying homage to some of their favorite plastic figurines.
This summer, Kidrobot is launching a line of new bags that are bound to make you want to be a kid all over again — except without the task of doing homework or listening to your parents complain, of course.
Ranging in prices from $38 to $148 for canvas and $78 to $328 for reflective nylon, the brightly colored bags come equipped with three equally playful details: Munny zipper pull, a Yummy Donut key chain, and a mini Smorkin’ Labbit.
While the over-sized weekend totes are a bit much for our liking, the backpack and messenger have our names written all over them. If you feel the same way, you can pick up your Kidrobot bag at Kidrobot stores, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s beginning June 25th.
Happy shopping.

Betsey Johnson has updated her site with more cuteness. Her newest collection of bags explore the nautical theme - with stripes, anchors and studs galore and the old-school aviation theme (think vintage Pan Am bags) all with the pizzazz and glitz that make Betsey Johnson so unique. She’s also added more dresses to her collection. I always manage to find tons of dresses that I want to wear - whether for work, play or partying. BJ does a great job of making dresses that you can find for any occasion. Check for updated looks on her site.

I finally had a minute to sit down and see the Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 08-09 runway collection and of course I was way more concerned with what the models had in their hands and on their feet than with what they were wearing. (Which by the way I was not really a fan of - it reminded me of Armani in the 80s - very sculptural but not in a cool Balenciaga way). I digress. The bags, the gloves, the shoes, oh my! A lot of the bags featured the LV logo embossed on different fabrics. The gloves were very ladylike and the shoes are crazy! I especially need the LV nylons in my life. I also loved the accents of animals skins like snake, croc and ostrich. Take a peak after the jump at my favorite pieces. We’ll have to wait until later in the year but it will be worth the wait for these goodies. . .

INKS is a mix of the inspirations and influences of Pamela Mena, a 23 year old up and coming talent, pursuing to shape her own identity into a world full of expression and freedom.
INKS embodies a love of independent punk, rock music, technology, street art, and design. It bears a fusion of Pam’s works in graphic art, alongside Queens, NY to Daytona Beach, FL fashion sensibility. With the hallmark hot pink and gold printed totes, handmade by Mom, INKS expresses a very eclectic, “chill mode” style.
Pam’s motivation and inspiration comes from street artists like Bansky, and her sister Toofly, whom she collaborated with on graffiti walls during the summer. She began making personal stencil works in early 2002 on various found objects at home and on the street. Her stencil work has been featured in books like Stencil Pirates, and online sites like Wooster Collective.

It’s all about the collaborations nowadays, everyone likes to get designer stuff at an affordable price. After the successful collaboration Stella McCartney had with H&M , she has joined forces with LeSportsac to release a series of 30 to 40 styles of limited edition bags to be launched in Spring 2008. The bags average at $200 to $250, the deal lasts up to 18 months and is renewable. This collection only sold at selective high-end department and specialty stores worldwide, including three Stella McCartney boutiques (NY & LA), and only five LeSportsac stores, no worries if you’re not near one, they will be available for purchase online. I can’t wait to see how this collection of bags will look like, hopefully its something fresh!

Monogram Miroir Speedy - Gold & Silver
So if you’re a VIP you’re probably a proud owner of the LV Monogram Miroir Collection. But if not they’re sold out already, but of course there’s tons of resellers on selling them on eBay. I feel like these attract too much attention, but I’ve never seen one in person yet. These can be interesting, but I wouldn’t shed any loot to buy these. How do you guys feel about these?
