Stylista Premier Tonight

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

If you’re loving the “fashion” television that abounds, here’s the latest to possibly add to your guilty pleasures: Stylista. No, this isn’t like that horrible stylist show hosted by Vivica Fox. It may be worse, or it could be the next “America’s Next Top Model.” You can find out tonight when you see 11 contestants throw each other under the bus for the highly coveted editiorial position at Elle Magazine. It’s the Devil Wears Prada meets The Apprentice. Could be fun . . . I wonder what the “you’re fired” line will be. Find out tonight on the CW at 9/8c and check out the preview below.

So, ANTM Is Producing Top Models?

Over the past few years, I’ve been so caught up in the campy deliciousness that is Tyra Bank’s America’s Next Top Model that I’ve never been able to catch any of the foreign reincarnations of the show.

I mean, what’s ANTM without Tyra’s pointless “Tyraisms.

Anyways, I’m slightly regretting missing out on the episodes from “down under because Australia’s winner Alice Burdeu actually has the idustry buzzing - but in a good way.

The knock-out red head made her prescense known at Proenza Scouler last week - causing the people at Marc Jacobs to take notice.

Like Saleisha, Alice is also signed to Elite NY. Can we give a boom-kat to the agents at Elite for all the MA-jor talent they have been scouting? (Karlie Kloss, Ali Stephens, Coco Rocha) IMG and Women/Supreme better watch out.

With Alice’s success in the NY market, it will be interesting to see how this will translate in terms of those key bookings in Milan and Paris.

In the meantime, Tyra’s tenth cycle on ANTM starts next Wednesday. Get excited…

Do You Want To Be On Top?

The economy might be on a steady decline and on the verge of a recession, but Tyra Banks has still managed to bring back another group of model hopefuls for the tenth season of America’s Next Top Model.

The girls range in ages from 18 to 25 and will be competing for the same $100,000 contract with Cover Girl cosmetics and an appearance in a fashion spread in Seventeen magazine like the contestants last season

Can you believe it’s been ten season already?

It seems like it was just yesterday Bri was dumping out all of Nicole’s Red Bulls, Rebecca was fainting before the judges panel, and Natasha was talking about how she came to America via a mail-order bride service. (That didn’t happen, but you know something was fishy about her husband.)

Oh, that’s right. It literally was yesterday courtesy of another ANTM marathon on MTV. This.Has.Got.To.Stop.
